For the person who said to rephrase...Bible is nothing but the word of God...and with all respect. Its ok to quote for a discussion..please answer the question correctly rather than suggesting..

Read it like you would read the Iliad and the Odyssey.
That there are inconsistencies should not be surprising in something that (in both cases) represents a written version of an oral tradition.
That there are historical truths (in both cases) does not make everything true. The existence of Troy no more proves the existence of Zeus than the existence of Jericho proves the existence of Yahweh.
That there are good ideas which are worth taking to heart and bad ideas which need to be ignored and silly ideas which can be laughed at based on thousands of years of new knowledge needs to be kept in mind while reading both.
Go in peace to love and serve the truth.

Read the rest of the passage: "For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart."
What this passage is saying is , that whenever you read the Bible, the Word of the Living God, that the Word of God is reading you, and exposing what really lies hidden in your innermost being.
as the next verse says:
"And there is no created being hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do." (Hebrews 4:12,13)

The sword is not for clinging to, it is for cutting away falsehood. It is for separating us from the things which enslave us including sin and death. Read the Bible every day--even if just a little bit. Pray for God's holy spirit to reveal the truth to you from what you read and disect each scripture to find out who is talking, who they are talking to, what they are talking about, what this reveals about God's purpose and his personality.

The Bible is the true word of God, and we should trust in it, and not be ashamed of it.
Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
There is only one side of God's word.
You must quote the Bible correctly when you post a statement about it or a question...
Psalms 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
The word of God is as powerful as a two edged sword.

Do what you know is right. Ignore the Bible.
If there is a God, she will understand.
