I rescued 2 kittens recently and need to find them a good home. The animal shelters won't take them because they were feral cats and I intervened before they were a year old. Any suggestions? I have 17 cats already and can't possibly take on any more. I live in Austin TX, and they are grey tabby around 6 months of age, Still very skittish, but have used the litterboxes and not fighting with my other cats. Any help much appreciated, and please, no smart *** comments I don't have time for immature high schoolers.

Hi there... because everyone here is located from all over the world consider posting an ad through a free online service such as Petfinder http://www.petfinder.com or Austin, TX Craigslist http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/ . Be sure to ask for a small adoption fee (e.g. $15 for each kitten) to disuade people who are looking for a free pet to sell to research labs, use for dog bait training, snake food or worse mistreatment. Ask prospective adopters that you would like to conduct a home inspection monthly for 3 months to ensure the well-being of the kittens as well. You can negotiate the adoption fee if you feel you have found a good home and refund the money after a few months. People scour Craigslist every minute daily so you may find someone pretty quickly.

Just leave them to get along in there own time. Its strange for them both, a new kitten has been brought into the males house and the female kitten is in a strange environment. Before you know it they will both be friends and playing with each other, just have to give them time. Aslong as they are both healthy then you have nothing to worry about :-) I have a 6 year old cat and 3 months ago rescued a 3 year old cat. They are JUST beginning to totally tolerate each other now, there has been a lot of hissing and pawing but they are used to each other now. The advantage you have is that they are both kittens and will soon be playing with each other, rather than fighting. Good luck with your new children Vicki UK

Well, good for you cat lady! My feral was very difficult to catch. I only have 3 cats, but I'm in Mass so it would be impossible to help you. Some people around here put pictures and flyer's (with permission)in our market stores and public library.. You might get some interested party's that way..Good luck. Maybe a common area at an elderly complex that allows them to have pets..??

You could try going on Petfinder.com and looking for rescue groups in your area. Maybe one of them could help you. It might help if they are already spayed/neutered....Not declawed!!! And it would help if they have all of their shots. If that isnt an option then you could place an ad in the paper, just dont list them as free. People that place free kitten ads dont really realize what happens to the kittens. People will cut them and use them to get dogs to fight, feed them to snakes and collect a lot of them and sell them to labs. Be very careful whom you place them with since they are already skittish. Try working with them by just holding them so they learn to trust you. Good Luck.

Well you have a few options if you can't find them a home...You can go to craigslist.com and make a free classifeid ad and people who are interested will send you and email, or you can put up fliers at your local pet shops, or you can put an ad in the newparer. I highly recommend that you don't put them up for free, because there are mean people ou there

check with the local vets for name of people who work with feral cats. There are plenty out there. Did you check out shelters in TX, they could help you find someone who cares for them. Check with farmers or ranchers, they always need barn cats.

You could try your local Yahoo groups, Freecycle(TM), or petsharing groups. I'm sure they have some. I've found that these are great for sharing animals, and unwanted things, and getting cool stuff for free.

Best of Luck!!!!!!!!
