Since I can't see the temperature control, that is hard to say. If you can get the surface to like 450 degrees, then steak would be great fried up with butter

Well you can make steak on it. But how tender it was, would vary. If yours plugs in...it most likely has the heating element underneath. Look on the bottom. The areas where the circular element are, are where the heat will be the most. So depending on where you place the steak, some parts will cook faster than others. Grills like that are notorious for uneven heat distribution. Also, frying a steak is not the best option usually.

But what you could do, is sear the outside of a steak on your griddle, and then finish it off in the oven.

You can do it though, but don't be surprised if the steak turns out less than amazing. Good luck!

You can make a great steak on it. Just make sure you turn off your smoke detector and get used to the smell of steak in the house for the next week.....lol. A realy good steak only takes about 10 minutes to cook. Lot of heat, smoke, and fire. You are better off broiling in the oven. Or outside on a grille.

yeah, you can make steaks. maybe a not too thick new york steak (no bone so that you can press and cook all the way) - or marinated pork chops - again not too thick, unless you want to wait and slowly cook them.

you can also make panini sandwiches! use an iron skillet for the press. look up some great recipes!

or what about fajitas? if you like 'em.

It's all in the preparation and cooking temperature. Do not cook with high temperatures, and keep the steak marinated even while cooking. High temperatures will toughen a steak. Other than that, you can cook a steak with just about anything.

if you try making steak on a griddle, you should place a weight on top of it to keep it solidly against the heat source. i would use a cast iron skillet as the weight

IF you have a CIRULUN ELITE, you can't. You need a stove top grill with ridges. The ridges remove the fat from the steak. Get a GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL. I have one and it's great, not only for steaks, but for chicken, vegetables, and fish ...
