It's a new tick of hers, it's like every second she's not using her mouse she taps her fingernails on the desk, she's right beside me, and it's really REALLY bugging me!! should i tell her? or what can i do to ignore it? we already have music on on my computer... i thought of putting some headphones on, but my computer is the source of music for all in my small office.

I wonder what Dorothy's cholesterol level is? And, her blood pressure? Well, if she doesn't want to go with you to ethnic restaurants, don't worry too much. She is the one losing out. And, for the record, most of the Asian restaurants cook for an American palate (taste). I have a friend who is of Chinese heritage. Her mom made REAL Chinese food- not the stir fry stuff sold at the take out places. I don't eat pickles, either, but I don't think they're nasty. Pizza, by the way came to Italy by way of China and Marco Polo, but that would be lost on Dorothy. Go to the restaurants of your choice and leave the finicky Dorothy behind. No need to go to the fast food places just to please her.

You should just tell her politely that she is tapping her nails and if she would stop because you cant consintrate. She probably doesnt even realize she does it. Good luck

The music would drive me crazy. As for her fingernails, she's not even aware of it...so speak up.

Talk to her in a calm, un-annoyed way and let her know that it is on the annoying side of life. Ask her if she would be so kind as to not do it so much or at all.

Let her keep tapping but give her a foam pad to do it on. That's a win-win solution.

Next time she does it, just say "Suzie, the tapping. You're driving us insane, here!" I'm sure she has no idea she's doing it.

start clicking your pen and popping your gum so she knows how annoying it is. or you could just 'subtly' get a group of your co workers together and start a 'you know what i hate?' conversation, thats how i let my co worker know that i hate people who cover up bad BO with cheap aftershave.

Do it in a jokey way "...your tapping is driving me nuts!"

I would just tell her (nicely) , hopefully she's not so ignorant that she would keep doing it even if you asked her not to.
