As with any performance venue, fit your performance to the audience. Obviously, you wouldn't have Ozzie Osbourne performing in such a Church, and y ou also wouldn't have a Church Choir as an opening act for Black Sabbath. Even CREED would be questionable considering the venue. Creed may work for a large group of followers in an outdoor stadium, but grandma doens't want to see them perform in her church. Make sense?

A garbage band is a good idea if you fit that personna, and so long as your performance fits the venue.

I've seen a lot of young people put together some really good comedy groups or dramatic presentations for churches that were both 'clean' (fit for the church) and well done. Dance works well in this venue so long as you have the room to do what you want.

Good luck.

I got kicked out of an assembly of God church. But it was a mixture of good and bad experiences there. I experienced so many manifestations of God through me in the battle with them ! It's a reallllly long story but I can sum it up in one scripture, "if they reject you, they reject me, and if they reject me they reject Him who sent me." They weren't rejecting me because I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan or anything like that, but they were rejecting the Holy Spirit in me. They would literally shove me down in my chair while I was praising God during the worship service. God taught me many things throughout the whole experience, and more since. I would say this, if your not free to do what His Spirit leads you to do, then yes, leave. If they pervert scripture, then leave. The Bible says, they have the form of godliness but deny the power thereof from such turn away. For what fellowship has light with darkness? righteousness with unrighteousness? Forsake not the assembling of your selves together. that's assembling together with believers not unbelievers, not frauds ! let the wheat and the tares grow together "in the world", not in the church ! It's difficult, I know. There probably are many people you don't want to depart from. But you gotta do the right thing. Edit: after reading your additional comments, I'd have to say those are some pretty good advisements. I mean if your gonna tithe, then yeah why should uncle sam get taxes from your gross income but God doesn't ? It's all His, He'll bless the 90% if you tithe. The dancing with the stars thing ... again, I have to agree, they are pretty scantily dressed. That can be tempting. Would you permit the women to wear that to your church services? I wouldn't . When I go to church I don't want the temptation of sexual immorality swirling in the place. I wouldn't want the children subject to it either, I was a teenage boy once and I know what can come from that. But even just watching that on t.v. is programming in what will eventually come out . I think maybe you should meditate peacefully about these things with the word of God. I don't think a move is in order, but it is your decision. Maybe God is calling you to a more mature walk with Him ! God Bless YOU Have A JesusFilled Life
