Does anyone know a good attention getter on introducing yourself for speech class?

I have to give an introduction speech about myself. I was just wondering what is a good intro. Thanks for any help.

If it's your first time doing an introduction, say this: "For those of you who don't know me this is who I am ________" and then you fill in the blank with information about yourself. It's just like starting a conversation with a friend of yours:) It's that easy, really. Good luck

An interest getter might want to be maximum something. First evaluate your target market. Then the concern of that you intend to communicate, and the purpose of your speech. Open with a greeting in a foreign language - but one most people aren't likely to know in your group (ie, if you're US, not Spanish).

Try New Zealand Maori - "Tena Koutou, Tena Koutou, Tena Koutou Katoa" ("Greetings, threefold greetings to you all" - in other words, "I really mean to welcome you, I've said it three times!").

"Ko 'X' ahau" ('X' being your name). 'Ko 'X' a-ho'' - "I'm 'X'".

Always a good way to surprise others. (NZ's main sport is Rugby Football and our team dresses in black - "The All Blacks". Wearing black would also give you something to mention - or you can get 'rugby jerseys' all over the world which would be another attention getter, even if they thought you were just dressing casually.)
