You must be thinking of staying at the Roosevelt Hotel? 45th and Madison. It is a safe mid-town, commercial type district, located adjacent to Grand Central Station. Nothing too exciting right there on Madison but an easy 5 minute walk to 5th Ave / Rockefeller/ St. Patrick's Cathedral. and 10 minute subway or 15 minute cab down to the East Village / Little Italy or Chinatown for some real NYC flavor.

Oh no. You'll be just fine. Its a city like all other cities so
just take common sense precautions. Lock your door
and things like that .Its centrally located, in the heart actually .Its East side, mid town, just 3 blocks north of Grand Central station, the train hub. You're 3 blocks north of the famous 42nd Street . where Times Square is .From where you'll be you can go anywhere. As soon as you arrive go downstairs in any subway and ask the clerk for a map. Subways and busses will take you everywhere you could want to go . ENJOY !!

45 and Madison is a safe area, lots of Business, Stores etc. full of people during the day. It's not the liviest asrea at night but there are a few restaurants and hotels in the area. You must be at the Roosevelt. The rooms a nice but kinda small

Yes, it's very nice area. It's considered Manhattan midtown, not exactly sure what the area is called. It's well lit during the night and full of business people during the day. Broadway and 42nd street are nearby.

You are going to enjoy it.

Are you staying in hotel there? It will be a bit pricy.

This question makes no sense. It all depends on what you consider "a good part". Good part for what? Many large business in that area that close at 5pm. Not much to see or do there. The roosevelt hotel is there which is pretty nice.

45th Street and Madison Ave is fine. You are right in Midtown and close enough to walk to Broadway and Time Square.

It's a great area, near Grand Central and farther east is the UN Plaza area. If you are looking for a hotel, the UN Millennium is great, plus a pool on the 27th floor, good rates too.
