What is the law against illegals? (without looking it up). And isn't Jeb Bush's wife Mexican? Ever give a thought to that being one of the reasons your president is moving so slowly on this issue?

ahh. Let me clarify something. I am NOT Mexican !! I never said I was. That is the problem with know it alls. They assume far too often. I was born and raised here and have traveled to many different countries. Stop assuming sillies!!

Amnesty is not an option and 80% of the country are behind that. We are all for border security and enforcing the laws. Health Care reform does not mean less service at twice the price with no controls. You don't think you have civil rights? I see it as minorities with special rights when all I want are equal rights. We have democracy in spite of Democrat attempts to take it away. We are sick and tired of ignorant liberals who should not be walking around free.

The "law" is the Immigration and Nationality Act ("INA"). It has been amended many times (IRCA, IIRIRA, ACWIA, AC21, etc). Most immigration "law" is not statutory, it is regulatory, having come from INS/DHS/USCIS/BICE/CBP as well as substantial portions being propagated by the Dept of Labor and State Department. The majority of the regs can be found in 8 C.F.R. (Code of Federal Regulations).
I think Bush is moving slowly both because of the potential political fallout AND because his actions will affect a pretty big chunk of the US population. To be fair, it really is more important to get it right than to get it fast.

Don't get me wrong...I don't like the mexican illegals. BUT I don't like ANY illegal being here and not wanting to put forth ANY effort to become legal. It is a bunch of crap. I do not care what the exact law is. Everything gets messed up in translation anyway. Like the ammendment for childred born to non-US citizens on US soil. These days it is taken as any child born on US soil or US territory is considered a US citizen. THAT IS NOT SO. The ammendment (#14 just so you know) states ..."All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
Take note of the AND in there. The child and parents have to be following the law where they are born. IE most of the children born to illegals on US soil and are now here are NOT legally citizens, but due to the warpin of the law, they are considered legal. So you can see why I don't care what the exact law is. Certain facts remain...
They are here illegally.
They are doing NOTHING to become legal.
They are more of a drain than a benefit, as the democrats would try to make your believe.
They are, in the end, going to be round up, and sent home. There will be no other way and the actual citizens of the US are not going to keep tolerating it.

Check usimmigrationssupport.org and it list the requirments for and process to become a citizen. If you are born in the US and are not here because your parent is a deplomat then you are a citizen. If you are born abroad but both parents are citizens and the have lived here then you are a citizen (there are others listed and I am not qouting word for word but check the site. Immigration is also covered in the constitution. As far as Jeb's wife goes she is not illegal. My wife is also Latino but she has her citizenship and she did wait and fill out the proper documentation.. She also made the kids learn English and had their school hold them back until they did (it took less than a year).

which law againt illegals its not like there is one hard and fast law.
there was the immigration reform that was passed in 1986 and the immigration act of 2005. I know there are others but those are significant ones.
An yea Jeb's wife is from Mexico, and was an exchange student when they met ( in other words she was in the USA legally )

The law here is the same as in most countries. There is a legal process you must follow in order to enter any foreign country. The process is more difficult if you wish to legally work in that country. The U.S. is no different.
What happens when people don't follow the process, but they come here and work illegally, is that now we have people putting a stress on our economic system. People who get free services paid for by tax payers. They put a strain on emergency rooms, health care, welfare services, and more.
These people generally don't pay taxes, they don't have insurance, they pay nothing into the system. They just take out of the system.

Who cares what the law is? Bottom line you're not supposed to enter ANY country you're not a born citizen of without a green card. And Jeb Bush's wife is Hispanic...You're Mexican and you didn't even know that? Why am I surprised?

The law says you cannot enter the country without the proper documents and you have to enter at the appropriate check-in places.
Jeb's wife immigrated legally.
(btw, I'm not anti-Mexican illegal, just anti-illegal.)

I don't think it's b/c jeb's wife is mexican. I think it's b/c there are so many "affordable" workers here in the US - hey, they can pay a mexican $50 a day to do work that would normally have to pay minimum wage.

being an immigrant from Mexico doesn't automatically make you illegal. There are plenty of ways to enter this country legally. Some people think that the rules don't apply to them and they can skip ahead of all the people following the proper procedure - that's what makes them illegal immigrants and not just immigrants :P
