Once the gore gets going, there are something like 7 minutes that don't have gore. It amounts to about 70 minutes of blood.

It's just a celebration of pain. "See how He suffered? Don't you feel bad?" Not recommended. If you do watch it, keep count of the blood. They've worked it out that they have christ bleeding something like 5 gallons of blood in the film. Not remotely possible.

Bonnie,

I went and saw the Passion of the Christ, and I am a Christian. It is a once in a lifetime move that will help even the most devout of Christians take a deeper look inside themselves to make sure that they are not letting what Jesus did for them ,what was an ultimate act of love, be all for nothing. This movie really does make you take serious account for what you do in life, for those of us who are Christian's and have a relationship with the Lord

This Movie has caused a great many of people across the country take a look at what they have done in their life that was wrong and they made things right after seeing that movie. At the end of the movie, so many people extended an invitation, asking if anyone wanted to accept Jesus as their personal Savior, and many rushed toward the frount of the theater where a Chruch pastor was sitting, if it was a Chruch group that came.

There was a man who saw that movie and afterwards, accepted Jesus as his personal savior and then turned himself in for a murder he had commited and got away with.

Another one turned himself in for robbing a bank, and he too accepted Jesus as his personal Savior..

It made me make extra sure that I watch every aspect of my life, because what you will see in that movie, is a tamed down version of what Jesus actually went through for us. In realtiy, when they got threw scorgeing Jesus, He no longer looked like a human. He actually looked like He was shoved through a meat grinder and did not even look to be human, yet He was able to carry that cross up that mountain to be crucified.

So go see this awesome movie, and make sure you bring a crying towel, because you are going to need it. It is a must see! Dont let anyone talk you out of it.

God bless you always
carol

If you are of The True Christian Faith then there is no reason for you to see that film. It is not strctly from a True Christian perspective. It si very much from a distorted Roman Catholic pov... and it is way over done in the brutality on the big screen... one of The True Christian Faioth already know The Truth of Christ's suffering and why it was necessary... no need to see it so graphicaly distorted...... yes.... I did see it...on a tv screen not in the theater... I would not recomend it to any one......

I do recomend very highly that you go see, in the theater on full screen, The Nativity Story... while it was clearly not strictly following The Bible...... it gives a very good depction of life at the Time of Mary and of her and Josephs faith...with out the slick hollywood overblown theatrics of The Passion..

I wouldn't say it's pointless, but it may be a bit heavy on the eyes for a youngster to see. For the most part, this is what crucifixion involved in that day. If you're interested in seeing how brutal the Romans could be, this would be the movie to see. But keep in mind, Christ "became sin for us", and God's wrath was poured out on him as our sacrificial Lamb. This would make it a good illustration of how God sees sin and what is required for atonement.

I too, am a very religious person. I don't think it is pointless at all. It allows Christians to get a small glimpse at what kind of suffering Jesus went through. It is brutal and graphic based on what historian say were Roman forms of punishment in that time period.

I highly recommend it. Christians will leave changed after watching it. Bring tissue.
God bless you.

I went to see "Passion of Christ". It was an ok movie. It did not, in my opinion, live up to the hype I had heard about it. Gibson did take some creative license in the way he portrayed some things, but overall, it wasn't that bad. I would encourage you to go see it if you haven't. There are people who will tell you that the Bible is pointless and has gross stories in it, but I wouldn't give up reading it because of what some people say.

If you're referring to the movie that Mel Gibson was involved with (& I haven't heard of a newer one) I can tell you it's very powerful, very moving & very well done. It's the only time I've ever been in a movie theater that no one was talking or up moving around. During the Crucifixion, you could hear people weeping. I watched with tear rolling, thinking "He did this for me". I highly recommend seeing it.

it's a must to watch!

i'm a devout catholic but fell in love with the devils character he turns into a bit of a modern anti hero...and he's blue and sooo androgenous looking! :) he's or she is beautiful and an amazing actor

the stroy line is nice not blockbuster material but nice judas also got a tear out of me :( his end is a bit sad especially since he regrets what he does at the end

the passion is a bit hard to take in gruesome to say the least

and if you think of it it's rather blasephemous...i watched it devoid of any meaning with out appropriating what i see to my religious believes and i think that's the only way of watching the film

get it on dvd that way you can fast forward the whipping (he is whipped for like 20minutes)

God bless!

I have seen it, and it is very brutal...but far from gross. I think it betrays the sufferings of our Lord in a clean manner. Honestly I would reccomend you see it, it is very violent, so dont take anyone under age, but as an adult...It was an amazing eye opener as to what Jesus really did go through......how brutally he was beaten.......how often he was spat on.... I made me feel sick to watch it at first, knowning I made my God go through that.......it was horrifying.....But then I realized, he did it because he loved me....He did it so I didn't have to. If you watch it, whatch it with an open mind, I think you will be amazed at how much Jesus really did do for us!

Rent the Movie and find out yourself. I seen it when It came out to theaters a few years ago and it's so powerful. The thing is that they talk in Hebrew The language that Jesus spoke. So if You have trouble reading I don't think it's worth to go see or see.
