You can try a spoonful of canned pumpkin with his next couple meals. Make SURE to get the 100% PURE canned pumpkin, NOT the pumpkin pie filling. The fiber in it should move things right along.

Fiber also works for diarrhea, so keep an unopened can handy.

I found this link that mentions a product called Lax-Aire that is a paste type laxative for dogs and cats. I think I seen it at Petsmart as well.
I was curious about what brand of food you fed your Chihuahua because I would recommend Purina. I feed my Chihuahuas the Purina O.N.E. Chicken and Rice and they do great on it. My vet approved it since my dogs' eat it and don't have any problems from it. They also a variety of food to give your dog a variety
Never by really cheap, low quality dogfood ( I don't know if you did)it will mess with a Chihuahua's sensitive stomach and cause constipation, diarrhea, gelled stools and intestinal cramping.

The best advice you can get is from a vet. You can just call your vet first, explain the problem and ask them what the best thing would be to do. Also ask them what the best method would be, for changing food. Changing food in a dog, can be really irritating on their digestive systems if you just do it suddenly, and you have to do it gradually.

Your dog may have eaten an unusual object which is blocking the way. You may want to just go ahead and send him to the vet if it's been a while. My dog is an older dog so his digestive system is very sensitive to changes. We usually just let him stick to whatever keeps him from pooping in the house or whatever keeps him on a good schedule.

Well yes there is. You might want to try the old fashioned cod liver oil on his food. They like that stuff. It don't taste to a dog or cat like it did to me as a child. It works.

You might want to go to a pet store and see if they have a mild laxitivefor dogs...By no means give him a human laxitive....If you want something organic try giving him beans.....

give him about 1/4 cup of pumpkin "paste", ya know, what you make pumpkin pie out of. they love it and its so full of fiber it will help push everything along. and make sure he's drinking enough water, that will help too.
