I suffer from something close to epileptic seizures, so the result is that I can't drive. So I'm decided to wait until something shows up, so I'm working at my town's DQ. Is that a good decision that I'm making or what?

Absolutely not, you have a disabiltiy, and most colleges need to accomodate any one, with any type of, disability.

I don't know how your financial situation is, but you can apply for the Pell Grant and Stafford Loan, if necessary. Then you can talk to someone at the college about transportation (if no friend or family member is able to drive you--I don't know how far away you are from the college).

Working at the Dairy Queen is okay to do part time for money, but get yourself academically assessed, and enrolled in the college. They will help you fill out your financial aid papers (if you need them).

My nephew goes to a PA college, and lives in NY. He is not yet on the road, as my brother and sister-in-law told him that they do not have the money for him to be driving--being as they are paying so much for his education. So, you will not be the only one not driving to, from, and around college.

Check out transportation at the college--also check with friends and relatives about being able to drive you. Check out the rules at the college that govern their treatment of people with disabilities.

I wish you well, I know there has to be a way for you to go. Don't let the fact that you are unable to drive mess up your life.

In many cases the ability to drive has nothing to do with the ability to attend college. Do you HAVE to drive to college? Can someone help you with the drive? Public transportation?

If you feel you want to do college, don't put it off.

I would find a way to go to college. So many people deal with what you deal with and have full lives. Don't let this stop you.
