Hi DL,
Don't feel lonely, There are millions of us. Not that only my faith claims a living prophet, but in my faith alone there are over 13,000,000 living members and growing.
We don't claim to be perfect, or to have all the answers, as some who criticize us would like others to believe. In fact as humans many of our members are of imperfect faith. But that is as it should be during this proving state.
We believe in, and some of us know, a personally relationship with our creator.
We believe that which God has revealed, that which he does now reveal, and we believe that he will yet reveal many great in important things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
We claim the privilege of worshiping almighty God according to the dictates of our own concience and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how where or what they may.
We claim that their are upon the earth living Prophets and Apostles as there were in the days of Christ and subscribe to the same organization that exsited in his church when he was upon the earth, and further more claim that the athority to act in his name via Priesthood power has been restored to the earth.
We're not hiding, and yes we take ridicule and criticism for our faith. But that does not deter us from what many of us believe and some of us know to be true.
And lest anyone feel that I am not firm in my conviction, I do not hide behind my profile, you can email me, visit my 360 page, what ever you would like.
Yes, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (The Mormons). We are Christian. We believe in the bible, as far as it is translated correctly. I am happy to discuss
objective questions and comments from believers and none believers a like.
I do not judge others based upon their belief (although I do have a sense of humor and will not hesitate to use levity when meritted, right MeatMachine?!)
Oh and by the way, yes I know you were just joking, I read your prior questions. But you asked! I am happy to oblige.

Just to add a little kindling to the fire, when was the last update to the Good Book? Is God dead or has he just turned away and given up on us like a experiment gone wrong? Who were the divine spirit scribes whose guided hands wrote the Bible? If it was written by divinely inspired mortals then what happened? Are we no longer worthy of divine inspiration? Could Achilles or Hercules have been amongst these ancient scribes? Maybe there was some help from mermaids and leprechauns.

Back in the Old Testament, there weren't very many prophets; most generations didn't have one. We're in a very long "between prophets" period.
Perhaps if a good replica of the Ark of the Covenant were made, along with the tabernacle, and we designated high priests to wave around dead bull parts and sprinkle blood on a leather seat, maybe G-d would speak directly to the highest high priest.

God communicates with you in every way possible.
That is why sufis, call the heart, the house of God.
It is firmly believed that the heart is where we receive direct inspiration from God.
That is also why sufis consider breaking another mans heart, akin to hurting something that can never be replaced, upsetting and resentful to the Creator.

i am a prophet. the reason you think there are none is because there are now so many of us. and we all speak to god, but from different angles so we never recognize the single truth at the heart of all our misunderstandings.
my contacts are always pleasant. the world is a wonderful place and it gets better when we decide to notice.

The last Prophet of God authorized to communicat God's direct Word to mankind was John The Baptist... any one claiming to be such today is, at best a fool, and most certainly a fraud.... and do not think I forgot Jesus.... Jesus WAS/IS God... not a prophet.
