Those countries don't publicize their givings. Also they do it at the individual level and not to organizations as much as the west. Charity is not only about money but can also be about cooking for others, feeding them, clothing them. That is not quantifiable by statitstics like money taht can be traced in banks or publicity or such.
Don't lso forget the economical situation of those countries. They give what they can afford to give. Remember charity is giving, not taking. You dont give to rake praises. You do it for your own sanity or satisfaction.
Besides 2-3 oil countries in the east, the others are pretty much behind financially.

Muslims in most of the world give their money directly to the people who need it. When it was time to pay alms, my husband asked the Imam now much he was to give (based on his income) and he took that amount (or more if he could afford it) directly to someone he knew needed it. In Islam you are allowed to choose where your money goes. The only problem with this process is that dollar amounts are not documented and cannot be used to compare them to established charities. I think this is a better system though. You know where your money is going and you don't have to be concerned that your money is going to pay the charity's overhead and staffing costs.

You know sometimes in the west even giving charity is a way of promoting that person or his/her company..........
.
Also, Muslims don't show off when they give charity.........
You don't want to know how many lives and homes have been saved because of Muslims charity..............
.
When Katrina hit........ our local Muslims put together their money and sent them to needy people. Groups of Muslims volunteered and went to the disaster places to help the needy......
.
Same same in Indonesia when Tsunami hit.........
.
And not every Muslim is a millioner.....The majority in those countries are poor people.....Also, not every Muslim country has oil,,,,only few of them does.

You are half right - the giving in the West is secular, not religious. Religious giving in the West is right down there with other religions. Our priest said in mass a few months ago that the average giving by families in the parish was 9 cents a week.

Islam also says, that charity given by your right hand should be so quiet, so free of advertisement, that your left hand shouldnt know about it.

What good is advertising charity after its done?

Most Muslim philantrophists do not advertise at all.

Bombs cost money.

Seriously given that wealth in Muslim countries is so overwhelmingly concentrated (much more so than in the West) its not surprising. there is little trickle down to the populations and the bulk is spent on aggrandizing the tribal fortune.
