User beware... The Beta version of Vista is very unstable on many systems... refer to the specifications.

A return to XP is possible, I would however strongly recommend before hand you made a 'ghost' copy of your hard drive as a means of a complete re-boot installation to remove any errors Vista might do...

My friend tried vista on his laptop (and he's a qualified pc engineer) he's still attempting to get xp back to normal and sounds like he's going to have to resort to a complete format and re-installation.

You would have to re-install XP.

An alternative would be to set up a "dual boot" system, where you have two (or even more) operating systems and can choose which one to run under. As a PC tech', I am going to have to "get up to speed" with Vista as fast as possible, but will still need XP for all those systems still running it.

If you install it as an upgrade you should be able to remove it through add/remove programs once it is installed. This was the case if you installed XP as an upgrade so I presume its the same.

I agree with Sano. Do not do it with the Beta.
