I believe some people are baiting with atrocious spelling. The word is sceptics!
P.S. Just checked and discovered that the people over the water spell sceptics differently (no surprise there). This comment was meant for British English spellers on account that I am using the United Kingdom site.

Whether the questions are 'baiting' or not is not important. Everyone has a right to question in whatever way they are accustomed to. God gave us all a brain to consider all the words of the Bible and it's teachings so that people have the option to either accept or reject them. Of course, faith is fundamental to real belief in God but each individual must make up their own mind. God also gave us all a free will and he respects that. Belief in God is not a religion but a day by day relationship with a living God who loves every human being and wants everyone to enjoy the mercy and grace that he wants to bring to our daily lives. That is why Jesus Christ died on the cross. To make this available to all. If you want proof - try it!

Yes they certainly do see it that way. And to be fair, a lot of the questions are there to bait them. In many cases the bait is there for fun, as part of a real argument. In others it's just there to annoy and insult.
However, the believers also bait the skeptics and non-believers, so all is fair.

I have a christian friend that just will not enter into conversations about her faith, which really annoys me. We are her friends, and I find it a really interesting subject! Also I think that if you believe in something so much that you will live your life by that set of rules, you should not be ashamed at answering a few questions about it. I don't mean she should preach, just explain why and what she believes. Although, obviously I respect her choice of not wanting to.
I'd expect that of anyone (not just Christians) with an opinion on something. If you believe something, be prepared to be asked why, don't just follow blindly.

Some questions are meant as bait.
Most are actually a help in learning to put scripture into modern day context.

Most certainly. Take care in reading and answering questions, don't even bother with the "What if" questions. Like last night, "what if you had to deny your faith or see your family all killed". If you answered," well , yeah deny my faith". Then he had you on denying your faith and he would reply, "Oh how strong was you faith. Ha Ha. "If you said, "no, I would not deny my faith", then he came back with,"Oh some God, He and you would let your family die". "Great religion". People, don't answer these kind of questions. It reminds me of the Pharisees how they were always trying to trap Jesus. We don't have to reply to these kinds of mind games, try to stick with those you can help and forget the others.

No. I only see derision, rudeness, and lack of respect for other peoples' right to hold an opinion different from your own as baiting.

Nelson, I think it depends how it's said. It can be baiting, when it's rude or disrespectful. I don't answer usually if I think it's just a wot not up a blind ally with a sore foot.

Yes some do. Largely it is do to the phrasing of the question. Not the question itself. We are all human, we all are skeptic of one sort or another. Baiting is just a tactic of one who can not or choses not to be open to honest diolog.

I have been known to both bait and ask serious questions one right after the other. They interpret all of it as baiting...
