you dont just get water into your body by drinking it straight, its also in most liquids (though soda and alcohol dont count because they make you lose water) and in fruits and vegetables. or, possibly, youre getting too much salt, which would make you retain water, causing you to become bloated.

Actually I do. It has helped clear up my face and I am not as dry throughout the winter as I used to be. You will feel puffy at first. It's part of the cleansing process. I have heard that some people don't really need 8 glasses a day. I guess it all depends on you body and what else you are drinking.

Uh, more like 64 oz. That would be the recommendation. You'll get puffy at first, since the water has to flush out the salts, etc. from your cells, but then you'll find you retain a lot less water in the long run.

you should take atleast 48-60 Oz a day!! this might be difficult but remember to keep the water bottle next to you n try to drink atleast 2 oz when you see it!! eventually you will be drinking bottles of it!! it just take practice!! 4oz is toooo less!!! If you have not heard how water does good to you then you need to do some research work...... coz water helps our kidney to work properly and smoothly..... if water intake is less then kidney takes much more effort and Liver gets involved in the process.... In clear words u r hurting yourself by not drinking enuf water!!!!!

I drink a lot more than 8 oz. But then, I don't drink milk because I'm lactose-intolerant. So, I substitute it with Calcium pills and lots of yogurt, and then drink water the rest of the day. I confess, however, I went one day without any water, and drank an energy drink instead.

4 oz is half a cup, 8 oz is a cup. I believe you meant 8 cups/glasses. I drink more than that. You need water if you work out.

Did you hear about the girl in California who participated in a radio contest and died from water intoxication? Don't overdo it. Work up to the recommended amount gradually. Like add 1 cup to your total intake every other day til you get up to the amount you need plus you need to drink extra if you are overweight.

You are supposed to drink 1/2 an ounce of water for every pound you weigh. It is a fact. :)
