I am not sure if anyone ows or ever read book called "The 100 Evil" by Martin Wolcott but its a book that has biographies of serious killers begining with their childhood and problems they experiences during ending with how many murders they commited, etc. Now my question is do people become like that with some time because their are being pushed all the time? Or its how they parents raised them? Or maybe they were born to be criminals? Or those are people with very special characters like psycopaths? What is it that goes through their mind that they become canibbals or molesting pedofiles, necrophiles? Can you just live up until 30 and then just going down slope in your life become a psyco killer? I like to read a lot on this subject and sometimes I feel like just by reading it you already doing yourself wrong and putting yourself in predictment of knowing too much?

i worked in a medium security psychiatric hospital for 5 years with serial killers, and violent psychopaths. some came from horrible backgrounds, and some came from normal backgrounds with positive influence from the parents and siblings, so i don't believe how a person was raised, or nurture, causes a person to be psychopathic. some people believe it is brain chemistry. it is also felt that a person developes at a young age if they are psychopathic or not the common denominator usually is that they have not developed a conscious, and at a young age a lot of them confessed to torturing small animals. there seems to be no treatment for this type of person. one of the things i learned was that they have the ability to make themselves likable, which makes them even more dangerous. child abusers, quite often were abused themselves at an early age. pedophiles are not classified as psychopaths, and although there is treatment for this, the treatment does not work very well. for some of the psychopaths i worked with, alcohol was an influence, and it was thought to believe they may not have committed their crimes, if they were not drunk. to answer your question, about doing harm to yourself, i don't think it will, unless you start questioning people in your life, if they were psychopathic, because you would never know. the psychopaths i worked with had a reasonable degree of intelligence and until they were caught, were able to hide their true feelings, in their everyday life. hope this answers your questions.

I've found that it really depends on the guy. Some guys want a serious relationship at 15, some guys never do. Although guys tend to act a bit 'laddish' around other guys, which is why you might think that they're never serious. As for why, I have no idea other than they decide they want to treat girls seriously and have a serious relationship. It's not about sex though - guys are either always respectful of women or just want them to put out (in my opinion, the latter aren't worth bothering with). Sorry if this has just made you more confused! Good luck.

Nature versus nurture?
Don't worry, the very fact that you ask yrself these questions is indicative of a healthy personality. A psychopath has a fundamental personality disorder whereby they cannot empathise with others. He or she views other people as tools or obstacles to their desires; they think in fundamentally different ways about the world and their place in it. This development of empathy happens at a certain stage in childhood and can be seen, for example, when a child is sat in front of a model of a mountain (an example of a barrier). Two toy soldiers represent distinct individuals are place on either side and the child is asked, as the model soldiers are moved around, whether they can 'see' each other. The child with the normal development will see that, from the perspective of one of the toy soldiers, the other is not visible; that they are behind the barrier. The child with either a developmental problem or one who has not reached this stage of development will only see the scenario from their point of view, i.e. a global one and whichever positioning is staged, the answer will be the same. The child cannot imagine the view of the other. This child can grow to adulthood and retains the same base state; an inability to imagine the world from the other's viewpoint. It is easy therefore, to treat others as playthings or objects to use to their own ends.

A psychopath is formed at and early age and the whole personality of adulthood is formed on this shaky ground. The fact that you imagine yrself in this position makes it extremely unlikely that you are one of these personalities and I wouldn't worry about some change happening as a result of an interest in the subject; after all, criminal psychologists are, more or less, normal!

You pretty much covered the reasons for which this may happen. I've read that some people are just born that way, I don't think they know the reason, though. And if some kids are deprived of love and adoration and kindness and caring, the part of the brain that exudes these types of emotions doesn't get "fed" enough for the child to learn them. So the part of the brain that controls the anxiety, cruelty, violence, and hate, becomes nourished because that is all they know. It's so sad, but interesting.

I think it mainly has to do with the environment in which they were raised. Some people don't handle trauma as well as others. Something traumatic can happen to one person and it will make them stronger. Another person can go through the same situation and it will break them down emotionally. Oprah Winfrey was molested as a child and it made her stronger, look what she has made of herself. Then there are those who are molested as children and grow up to be pedophiles. It may also have to do with genetics. If a person has a parent who is mentally unhealthy then they may pass their mental illness on to their children. Some people who have mental disorders don't seek professional help and then their problem worsens and that's when we get crazy people.

I believe people feel that way for reasons. I think a lot has to do with the way people treated you growing up. If they showed you respect, and love in a positive way. a lot of molesters were molested when they were young, and think of this as normal behavior. I think they don't have a conscience about it at all, So it doesn't bother them, So they would be psychopaths.I think dysfunctional families are part the blame also, but not always.

I love reading, watching serial killer stories. A lot of them are chemically imbalanced. I think most of them turn or become psycho paths from the way they grew up, what they were taught and who they want to become in later in life. Its all in how they think most of them probably don't know any better their mind is set and that's all its going to be.

ACK! It's SERIAL KILLERS. NOT SERIOUS.

It's a chemical problem in their brains. It's starts when they are children. Torturing animals, then humans. Usually friends--they will try something and end up hurting them. Always the leader of the group.

Its just something that happens. just like, why do guys hit their g/f's? what happened in someones childhood to make them rob banks?what makes somebody want to make porno films? theres a million answers for all of these. Its not about what led you up to these mistakes in your life, its about you choosing to do them, just like brushing your teeth. Also, the more people they kill /banks they rob etc., the more n more they will do it again, as it becomes part of their lifestyle routine...just like brushing your teeth. Most killers just like killing, just like normal people like going to sports events or the movies or whatever.

They're ****** to begin with. They all don't come out of the same kind of homes....if you look, some come from really good homes, and some bad. It's with their brain chemistry that does it.
