Seeing we are living in the Lords Great Sabbath, the seventh day, His day of rest. (The great teaching period is over.), a religious character/He/She, would be operating within a democracy, in a family dwelling, and being good to his or her neigboor. (Sometimes this takes forgiving one another their faults, because no one is perfect.) Putting religious differences aside would go a long way to. And Politics too, draws to much fire., and getting along. So, be in the religion of being a peace maker. The new testament say's, to be as an ambassador for God.

Since a basic definition of "religion" is belief in supernatural being/beings, then all gods are religious characters. Different gods could, and do, belong to different religions. Since you did not specify which god to which you were referring, there can be no answer to your question, other than god belongs to that religion to which he or she is associated.
