Actually, it is not the education... as I know not everyone has access to the same amount of education, it is more the lack of respect that I am amazed by. I boggles me how people take pleasure in belittling someone else just because of their beliefs. This is supposed to be a forum to gain knowledge. It is very rare that I see real questions being asked to gain knowledge and insight. God bless.

Not just disturbed -- I am appalled. And, unfortunately, I don't have any good fix for the problem. Surely, by now, everyone should recognize that the theory of evolution has hung around for a hundred and fifty years because it gives correct answers (even ignoring the fact that it is now proven to be correct), but we continue to see people claiming not only that evolution doesn't occur, but that the earth is only a few thousand years old. The state of scientific instruction in the US is a worldwide laughingstock.

Sometimes I get amazed at the lack of knowledge and sometimes I get amazed at the intelligent answers I receive out of the blue. It goes both ways.

But most of all, this section of Q & A represents practices and behaviour patterns, rather than direct knowledge on some subject.

Not really. People seem to be getting more ignorant all the time. 25 or 30 years ago I might have been amazed but not anymore.

Unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me at all. Education has been taking a back seat to selfishness for years now and now we are starting to pay the price of it.

Oh yeah. I just read a question that made me want to weep. I was poised to make a witty reply when despair overcame me and I realized it was a lost cause.
