Like temporarily, because of an injury or illness, or lack of ability, etc?
If so, what did you experience, both mentally AND physically? How did you deal with it?

I enjoy almost unnatural youthfulness and health. I work out daily, though, to stay limber and strong as I age. And, I'm outdoorsy, which keeps me fit, too. Last year in February, I broke my neck. The recovery was horrible. I couldn't move enough to even twist my body. But, I gradually recovered and pushed the workout from simple tai chi back up to where I was before, full ballet and U.S. Army PT. Today, I am back to my best and can run up a mountain again and dance around on the top like a giddy six year old. : )

I had IBD for a while, and I could no longer work out. I lost about 20 lbs while the doctors tried various drugs on me over a period of about 6 months. Before this time I used to work out seven days a week and was healthy as an ox. It really hurt me more than anything else, especially as I was watching myself fade into a human skeleton and lose everything I worked hard for. All I could do was keeping supplementing my diet with Boost and Ensure to keep from wasting away and I would go out once in a while for a walk outside to get some fresh air and be in nature for a bit to keep myself from sitting around feeling sorry for myself. Eventually I got better and I have been doing quite well getting back into shape.

Yeah, I had to stop for about 10 months. It was crappy and you get down on yourself, but you know, there are a lot of more life situations that get in the way of a hobby. You learn to deal with it. It isn't the end of the world. You don't look as good or feel as good, but it's life. Now if your talking about a couple weeks or a month, you should be ok. Muscles have memory, and you will get right back into it after a week or 2 of training. Good luck.

I think that happens to everyone at some point. I had a broken foot. Mostly I felt bored. And kind of lethargic. The hard part is jumping back into your exercise routine once you heal.
