Read Box! Do that!
And if you are starting with raw long grain rice, and want to "convert" it you would need to steam it a little and then dry it. A process you really don't have the equipment in your kitchen to do properly and safely.

First you go to a store that sell Uncle Ben's Rice. At the store you find the aisle that has rice. You decide which box of Uncle Ben's Rice you want, take it off the shelf, go to the checkout counter and pay for it. Now you take your rice to the kitchen. It could be your own kitchen or someone else's kitchen, it doesn't matter. Hold the box of rice in your hands. Find, on the box, where it says, "instructions" or "how to prepare...", read the instructions and follow the instructions.
Enjoy!

Put 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water in a pot, some butter, and a dash of salt. Stir. Put a lid on the pot. Sit it on the stove and let it come to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to simmer and let it simmer for about 20 minutes until the water has evaporated from the pot. Stir the rice around, then serve. (perfect rice.)

If you don't have the box to read the directions, go to http://www.unclebens.com/rice/ click on the variety you have, and you'll see the cooking directions.
Hope this helps!
