I put him to bed every night in his own room but almost every night he ends up sneaking into my room. He knows he is not allowed to sleep in bed with me and my husband so he just sleeps on the floor. It is not the biggest problem but i just don't know why he doesn't sleep throught the night in his own bed. Any advice?

He is most likely afraid in his room by himself and needs comfort. He knows that you are in the other room so he feels safer in there with you. You should talk to him and see if he has any bad dreams and maybe he just wants to have a closer relationship with you or your husband. Maybe you could bribe him into sleeping in his own bed by telling him you could play Monopoly or something the next morning.

My 4 year old daughter did this for about 7 months but right before Christmas we told her that if she did not sleep in her own bed till the sun came up Santa would not bring her any toys to our amazement on Christmas eve she did and ever since then she has been sleeping in her room all by herself and also my husband prays with her every night and tells her that Jesus will protect her cause she would tell us that there was a ghost in her room so by praying with her, she somehow sleeps all thru the night!!

He probably is frightened and feels comfortable with you near. You can wait til he grows out of it which he eventually will or you can punish him for coming into the room and sleeping on the floor.

My daughter did this and I realized that when she came into bed she would scoot right up against me. I got her a body pillow and now she sleeps with that and usually stays in her own bed.

He wants to be with his Mommy! Why don't you just let him sleep in your bed for heaven sakes! It's not THAT big of a deal. When I was little, I could sleep with my mom whenever I wanted =) . Be NICE to your child, for once =).

most kids do this. it's probably that he wants attention or is having trouble sleeping aka bad dreams or scared. it's nothing to worry about. it will wear off.

it's either he's scared and doesn't like to be alone or he likes to have people around to comfort him while he sleeps

it must be because he doesnt feel safe on his own. try explaining that you are just next door and if he needs you he should just yell and you will be there
