i live with my b/f and his pararents . they are hateful people
they hate black people use racial slurs they hate gay/lesbians and call them freaks they belive all gay/lesbians are child molesters they use the word fag as if it hi.
other then this they are wonderful with my son. they took us in when i had no where to go.
but i was not raised this way. my mom never says theses things so i did't .
i don't want my son to think this is ok behavior as he is growing up. he is onlly 11 months but i wondered if he could be picking up this
so i try and aalways say mikey mommy dosent care if you are gay or straight as long as you are happy and i always tell him that there is bad and good in everyone and color has no say in who is good or bad
my b/f thinks this is non sense and that our son will be fine.
so i wonder if anyone else has any suggestions on how to teah a child not to judge others or maybe a web site that helps to teah tollernce
thanks

ok...at 11 months old i'm not sure i'd put it as "mommy doesn't care if your gay or straight...that's alittle to much info. trust me my daughter is being raised half the time by her homsexual father. he doesn't have to even comprehend such words yet. when my daughter asks i'll tell her. until then....it's whatever. now in your case i would simply stress to mikey the he can be anything or anyone he wants to be. my daughter will tell you she can be. about the racial issues, explain god made everyone and loves us all the same, as should we....a persons color doesn't make the person!!! your b/f thinks it's nonsense because he was most likely raised the same way. no to say he's a bad person, he's grown now and makes his own choices. you definately shouldn't allow your son to be influenced this way. sit with the parents and explain your point of view and let them know you don't appreciate it in front of your son. try to live somewhere else asap!

hope i helped!

Sounds like you have it covered. You might just want to get out of their house, if you are still there and put some distance between them and your son.
