if jesus died for our sins wouldnt we have sin if our mother or father were sinners? because if sin is passed on then wed all be sinners all over again? i guess sinning would be a genetic trait that is passed on through generations you cant one day have sin then have it completely whiped out unless you took out a human
gene from every single human alive 6000 years ago (as ridiculous as this sounds id love to see people debate it)

Jesus did die for our sins. But we are all sinners and have come short of God's Glory.John Chapter 3 verses16-21. We all are born with free will .We can choose to change are sinful ways and accept Jesus as our personal Savior as we grow out of our innocence and realize right from wrong.
We don't get a free pass into heaven, unless we are of the age of innocence, meaning a child of God protected by
Matthew Chapter 2 verses 12 thru -16.Even Jesus got baptized by John the Baptist when he began his ministry
it is in Luke Chapter 3 verses 21 thru 22.

I would think that the tendency to sin might be a genetic trait but sin in itself is not genetic.
The Bible teaches that a person is responsible for his individual sin. A child, for example, would not be held accountable for the sin of the parent. I think the concept of passing down accountability of sin is sometimes confused because of the verse in the Old Testament that states God will punish the sins of the parent to the third and fourth generation (my paraphrase).
What this is saying, is that there are consequences of sin that follow a family to the later generations.
The original sin (sin of Adam) is at times confused with the passing on of sin.

Good question.
It is the Christian belief that all of us are are sinners from conception, due to the fallen nature of creation. We have a tendency to do wrong. I don't think this is literally a "genetic" defect, but it makes a good metaphor for it, and has been used in science fiction: "the Christ gene" is great for speculation....
This is a problem that cannot be cured merely by trying to live better lives, although this alleviates the symptoms, so to speak.
This is why God became Human, in order to redeem our fallen nature. Christ's sacrifice is eternal (for all time), but we experience our lives as a process IN time. So, though our sins come AFTER Jesus in Time, they are still covered by the Eternal sacrifice.

First of all you contradicted your own question. Second sin is passed on by watching. Children watch thier parents and end up doing what thier parents do.
Dad Drinks and Mom is a verbally abusive chances are you child will end up that way.
Mom's a Prostitute and Dads a gambler chances are as a parent that way of life (Sin) will be passed on to thier kids.
God is the only one who can free the parents and the child from Sin. Thats why Jesus died on the cross so that I don't have to follow in anyone's footsteps. I am free. No Matter how my parents were.

Jesus did die for our sins but we are only freed from them if you accept Jesus Christ into our lives as our savior. If you believe whole heartedly that Jesus Christ was the son of god, died on the cross for our sins, and then rose on the third day then that means you are saved. If you don't believe that then you are not saved. I love how all you atheist talk all this crap about something you obviously know nothing about and don't understand. Go educate yourself about the religion before you trash talk it. Ah looks like I won this debate.

The idea behind Jesus sacrifice is that he voluntarily paid a penalty for the actions of sin. Sin is not a genetic trait, it is a character trait. You can see it when a child grabs a toy from another child and yells "Mine!!". This is sinful behavior, and evidence that this child inherited a sinful character from his/her parents.
Where Jesus died on a cross 'for our sins', he willingly took on the death penalty that is the mandatory sentence for that sinful behavior that we exhibit.
We can choose to accept that sacrifice that was given in our place, or we can be bullheaded or arrogant and try to face the penalty ourselves. Due to Jesus God-nature, he was able to pay the debt in full. We are not, so therefore we never come up for parole. Jesus put the funds in our account, we just need to write the check.

I'm not sure what your question is... Jesus did die for our sins. According to the Bible, sin is passed on through the father, not the mother, which is why Jesus was born to a virgin. His father was God, and therefore he was the only person ever born without sin (you might include Adam and Eve in this, but technically, they were not "born").
Sin is not wiped out, so much as "covered up" by Jesus. Christians still sin, they are just forgiven for it.

- We are sinners by nature, which is a product of being human.
- You are confusing human nature with genetics.
- Jesus died for the sin's of the world for past, present, & future because of the nature of the flesh.
This is why the bible tells us we will get new bodies & be transformed in the spirit.
(Study what the Bible has to say on this if what I'm saying is a bit over your head, no offense)

Your question makes a lot of sense except the part about if Jesus died for our sin. He did. We have to believe that he died for our own sin, repent, turn from it, and trust and obey God and then our slate is wiped clean and we go forward in newness of life.

Jesus the Christ died to pay the sin debt. That does not mean that there is no sin in the world, just that those who accept Him as their Savior will not face eternal damnation. YBIC You, my friend, are a prime example of Proverbs 1:22-23
