Not necessarily. Paxil is really bad at packing on the pounds whether you change your diet and excersice or not. I gained 160 over the course of six months while taking it before my doctor finally listened to my complaints and took me off of it. Then, she refused to give me any type of meds to help me get rid of all that extra weight. That was two years ago, and I am still trying to get rid of some of the extra pounds. Needless to say, I no longer see that doctor and I would definitely not reccomend her to anyone. I also don't recommend Paxil to anyone either. There are some other problems coming out now that it can cause diabetes, both type 1 and 2 and birth defects in babies and things along those lines that weren't previously listed as side effects. But to answer your question specifically, no the weight won't come off easily, and I wish you the best of luck in trying. If you find a way to get rid of it, please let me know.

I took Paxil for a very short while but had to stop because I was having severe reactions to the medication. However, my sister in law took some for quite a while and yes she did put on weight. She has stopped taking it now and has lost most of the weight. Good Luck.

I took Paxil CR for over three years. My doctor recently had me switch to Effexor XR because I gained about 20lbs on Paxil.
Paxil worked wonders for my depression and anxiety. It has more of a sedative effect vs. other SSRI medications.
You may want to ask the doctor to give you another antidepressant that does not promote weight gain. Effexor XR, which is an SNRI is promoted as being weight neutral as is Welbutrin, which is totally unrelated to other antidepressants.

some medicines tend to make you gain weight, although I have not heard much about paxil doing this, it's very possible because people react in different ways to medicines. if you think paxil is the problem and you have had weight gain since that time you took them, then i think you will lose wieght since you've stopped. doctors know which ones make you gain or lose, ask before taking anymore and specifically tell them you will not take one that causes weight gain. cymbalta is supposed to cause wieght loss, if you ever need to take another antidepressant

I was on Paxil for three years (or so) and then switched to Effoxor. Different anti-depressants have diffrent side effects depending on your body. You should try to exercise more and if it's really bothering you, talk to your doctor. Maybe he/she can recommend another medication.

That's kind of weird that you only took it for three months. But anyway, I have been taking it since 2002, and I went from a size 5 to a size 14! pretty crazy. But, I'm happy! Try going to the gym...
