What can I do to get rid of the soreness???

yes, i can see your problem. i had that when i did a bit of weight training. your arms feel a bit "spazzed" as i call it and as some people call it. basically, if you do pushups more often, that feeling will be eradicated. as for the pain, unfortunately youve got to leave the pushups for a few days until all the pain has gone, and you'll find that theyre easier to do afterwards and also that you wont feel the pain anymore. hope this has answered your query. good luck =]

Buy some epson salts and put about 2 table spoon fulls in your bath. It'll help relieve the tension. Also, lightly tap/punch (not hard though!) your arms. It helps break up blocks of acid, which causes it to separate and it won't hurt so much.

Eat a banana. The potassium in them helps with muscle soreness. And though it sounds counterintuitive, keep moving and using your arms. (But without weights, be gentle) because keeping the blood flow up will help them heal faster.

Take some ibuprofen....800mg... the soreness are the acids in your muscles being released and irritating them ...wait a few days to resume your fitness regime for your upper body
