Headest Problem???

Question

I just bought a brand new pair of headset and I hooked both cables (mic and heaphones) into my laptop and nothing works! Does it have to do anything with a laptop??? Because they work on desktop.

make sure you did not put the mic./headphones in the wrong connectors (mic in headphones and headphones in mic)

Double click on the Volume control and make sure that neither Line In, Wave In, or Volume Control are muted
