My cuz keeps giving me a hard time about the age difference between my boyfriend and me. She wants me to date a younger dude (20-27), but I really like my man. He treats me good and we're very compatible...is the age difference okay?

Adults shouldn't conform to age segregation!

Ok...a 30 year old and a 40 year old are not kids. They are more responsible and mature and know what is right and what is wrong. A 16 year old loses control when those hormones kick in and doesn't really think of consequences like having a baby or something like that. Plus a 16 year old and a 26 year old might be consensual between them but it only takes one person that isn't fine with it like parents or family members to make him a sex offender for the rest of his life and be in jail. Plus the maturity levels are totally different besides illegal.

This is your life and what you want. If this is the man you want then stay with him. Age dont matter to me. I have dated 10 years older then me, and 8 years younger.

Im 40 seeing a girl now who is 34, last girl was 49

There is nothing wrong with the age difference. My parents are 8 years apart and have been happily married for almost 38 years.

The age difference is fine. My parents are 9 years apart. And they are happy together.

If you like him and he likes you and he is good to you then I would say that the age difference is OK. as long as it does not bother you it is all good. Don't worry about what others have to say

absolutely; if you stay together and you are 65 and he is 75 what is the difference you would both be old. Don't ever about what others think..the one's who care for you will always be there for you. Good Luck.

i will say no.....my parents are ten but when you younger it is fine but when men reaches 60s and you in you 50s the whole worlds changes your taste changes and the thoughts are just ifferent and this leads to arguing like everyday. but if you love him and tell him to promise you that won't happen i guess it will be okay.

yes i say dont listen to her. it's your feelings after all. plu i know ppl who are together, and married, and widowed, with age differences. my parents are 6 years apart, my mom older. uncle/aunt are 15 or so years apart. ex-grandparents(moms, ex-husbands parents) i believe were around 13 years apart. great gradparents.. im not sure but there were a somewhat good amt. of years btwn them and they were married for 40+ years..but my great grandma just died recently..
so i say dont mind your cuz. its your life and love afterall not hers.
