im in a different school now and there are a lot of girls there. the only problem is that im always with my friend there since i dont know anyone else. how do i meet girls if im always around him. and also what do i say to them when i walk past them or see them sitting by themselves at the table.

School is great because you automatically have ways to start up a conversation with someone. Basically if there is someone in your math class you like you can ask them about math class. Take your last math test and ask them how they got the answer to a question you got wrong. If you find out that they suck at math you can offer to help them, if you find out they are great at math ask them if they can help you. Even if they say 'no' to tutoring you still got a real conversation out of the deal so next time you see them, you aren't a stranger you can just go and talk to them.
Or even walking in the hall. You have a great angle on being new. You can go up to a girl and say "I'm new, where is the room 101 (or what ever)" maybe she will just point you in that direction, but now the next time you see her you can go. "Hey thanks, I would have missed my class if not for you, by the way what's you're name? [insert her name her] Well, thanks [Her name here] I'm [insert your name here] and I'm really greatful to you for helping me out." Now guess what you've had two conversations so next time you see her you can just start talking.
As for the friend. You just need to make an effort to take some breaks from him from time to time. Girls do this in clubs all the time (or the smart ones). Girls always go to clubs in packs but they know a guy is not going to come up to them while they are with their friends so every once in awhile a girl will step away from the pack and just stand by her self or go up to the bar alone. This is to give a perpective guy the chance to come up to her. You need to do the samething. Maybe tell him that too. Maybe you sit with him during lunch but you get on line by yourself. Maybe every few periods you walk to class by yourself. Things like that.

I am girl and I also moved to a new school and also always with my friend. But what I do is, I am very shy, but when we sit in the passage they normally walk pass then i just say Hi how are you? then they reply. then eventually i guess they will talk to you and ask you a question or ask for help if you say hi regulary then eventually you become friends. but it takes time. OR if you in class and they talking about something you know and want to tell them something just tell them even if you friend is with you all the time. Hope it helps Goodluck

This is my suggestion, so say you see a girl, the first time, just smile. The next time you see her, say hi. Then next time say hey how are. Sooner or later you'll pick up a conversation. I do this on guys and it works all the time. What you can do to, is if your friend is cool tell him you are going to hang solo for a few to pick up some girls, if he doesn't understand, you have a clingy friend.
