Probably. I'll also vote that he has an inferiority complex. But, ever since I watched "Team America," I have a hard time taking him seriously.

He has the whole brainwashing, bribery, and power-trip thing down to a science. He learned from the best, his dad. The best way to control a society is to start with the youth and work your way up through propaganda.
I took a trip to the DMZ and it is politics in action. Did you know they have the largest flying flag in the world. It take some 80 plus people to carry, race, fold, or lower it. There is a make believe city built soley to make it look as if everything is nice and to make us think there citizen have visibility of us. We were not allowed to point while we were there and they the North Korean Soldiers kept a watchful eye on us the entire time with binoculars and loom lens cameras.
He orders and consumes more Crown Royal than any person in the world. North Koreans are much shorter then South Koreans because of the malnutrition diets. Kim Jong IL is also a playboy and has created a God Complex. There is no organized religion, but he and his dad are the closes thing to a god. They even have there own calender which is restructed after the birth of his dad.
His screws aren't loose, yet he is just an eccentric hypocrite just like any other powerful head of state that knows exactely what he is doing since he is not the one that is poor or starving.

Actually...he AND his father, Kim Il Sung, are rather fanatical.
Also, having been stationed in South Korea, it was fun to see some of the propaganda leaflets dropped from North Korea!
You often see the littlest bully yell the loudest!
The story by BionicNah is true yet one thing the have never fought to make larger was our military troops.

Hes like the evil step child who throws a fit when he doesnt get attention. Kinda scarry thinking that hes up there though when ur sitting on the DMZ. but you get over it.
