How to keep 19 month old from undressing?

My 19 month old daughter constantly undresses herself including her diaper! I went into her room this morning and found her naked. I lay her down for a nap and she sits in her crib and "talks" to her toys and I peeked in on her she was naked again sitting in the corner of her crib with her toys. Any advice on how to keep her clothed. She usually sleeps in pants and a shirt or shorts and top in summer. I use to put her in the zipper sleepers,but she just unzips them :)

My 2 year old twin boys did the exact same thing. Every time I turned around they were naked and laughing. It's cute until they ripped off their diaper and then peed or pooped. When my boys went through that stage it was winter so what I did was always dress them in overalls. They had a difficult time undoing the buttons so it solved the problem. However, if overalls are not an option, you could by one piece diaper shirts (onesies) and they may work. You can get the diaper shirt style tops with long sleeves to stay warm at night. It's just a thought but it may work.
I wouldn't recommend using safety pins as they may come undone and pierce her skin.

This is a normal part of development that bothers you alot more than those around you. At least she is not stripping in public!!!! If it really bothers you, go back to the zippered sleepers and put a safety pin at the tip of the zipper to prevent her from unzipping.

Have her redress herself (as much as possible) when you find her naked. It is a lot less fun to strip if your just going to have to put them back on again. Giver her time, she WILL outgrow this phase and when she grows up, you'll have some really embarassing stories to tell her boyfriends!!

You cant really tell them they arent supposed to be naked all the time because they wont understand that. All they know is its comfortable, Hell I think its comfortable! The only thing I can tell you from experience to do is to try to keep onesies on her. Its harder for babies to get out of them. Hell sometimes its hard for me to get them things unsnapped! That will at least keep her top on. And the more you keep onesies on her, the more she is prone to forget how much she actually likes undressing (that is after she gives up trying). When she gets frustrated and starts crying because she cant get her clothes of, Show her something that is more fun, so she will think that there is something more fun then getting undressed. And if it gets to bad after a while and she doesnt stop it, then I guess you could try the time out thing. Good luck and remember patience is a vertue! (I have to tell myself that all the time!)

baby's love to be naked, mine did the same thing and is 3 and still doing it. The key is to not let her do in public mine would start udressing in walmart. My advise if she is in the privacy of her own room let her be naked as the day she was born. When she gets old enough to understand privacy, she will stop undressing in front of others. Society says to stop taking baths with them at 3 so when she is 3 teach her about when it is appropriate to be naked.

Taking off their diaper is usually a good sign that they are ready to start potty training. They are discovering their bodies and there is no harm. I used to let my boys be naked and as they got a little older they understood that were times they NEEDED to wear clothes and times it was Ok to be naked. Get excited about putting on certain clothes s she will too and want to wear them. If approached too seriously, you could start a real battle.

Its normal - I think she is just exploring and learning. probably, its a phase she will outgrow - if she is only doing it in her crib, why not, its probably more comfortable - if she is doing it in public, that may need to be curbed. Kids tend to get really hot - if she were in a light sleeper or nighty would she still undress?

It's not going to hurt to let her run around naked sometimes! Think about it, do you always like wearing clothes? Isn't it nice to be naked sometimes! lol...She will get over it and soon she will be changing her clothes 20 times a day like my 4 year old daughter..

There are children who are warm when clothed, then they think they need to undress to stay cool. My want to dress them with lighter and thinner clothing, even just underwear only. My son have done the undressing thing too.
