The whole creation story is easily explained.
God is a daddy. Daddys (though I love mine with all my heart) have been known to do some pretty stupid things when it comes to their children (I know my dad did some very. stupid. things). They trust five year olds not to touch things just because daddy said so, when they should know better. Mommys know better. This isn't a daddy shortcoming, especially if he's not home with his kids all the time to learn that they won't always listen to him (where EXACTLY did God flit off too?), and with the first set of kids, daddys can be incredibly naive.
However, that does not account for this PARTICULAR daddy literally cursing his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren ad infinitum for his shortcomings as a father - namely leaving the big baddy in the kitchen with the kids and the poisoned cookies. And if it was supposed to be a test, well that reflects even WORSE on him, now doesn't it?
"Here, I realize you're only 3 and don't have the cognitive ability to decipher right from wrong (because I've kept you from the tree of knowledge), but don't eat this fruit, no matter who says anything to you, and just to make sure that you listen to me I'm going to stick this lying snake in the kitchen with you to tempt you. Since you don't understand right and wrong, you have no way of comprehending that disobeying me is WRONG, because you don't know the definition of the word."
And then, his solution, sending a third kid to die for everyone else's sins - wow, that's a dandy way to fix the situation!
The moral of the story is if God were a real dad, social services would be all over him before you can say "Amen."

To correct your analog, the "children" were adults who had enough understanding of the world to be able to identify and name all of the species on the earth. They were not ignorant.
Secondly, the serpent only spoke to Eve, not Adam. Read 1 Timothy 2:14 -the Bible says that Adam sinned, but Eve was deceived. She was not held guilty for her actions to the same level as was Adam. But after she ate, Adam was able to see the results of her action, and with full knowledge of what she had done and how it had affected her, proceeded to sin anyways.
That is why the sin nature is passed, not through the woman, but through the man. (Read Romans chapter 5 sometime) That is why by having Jesus born from a virgin - no man, he did not inherit the sin nature.
Why did God allow the tree in the garden? For the same reason that your perfect kitchen probably has a bottle of aspirin or other medicine in one of the cupboards. The fruit that they ate did not harm them. It was their disobedience in eating it without permission that harmed them. Had they waiting until God's time to eat it, they would have been fine. It is like aspirins that taken correctly can cure, but swallowed incorrectly - against the rules and warning - can kill. So it wasn't a posionous cookie jar.
But you miss the most impirtant part of the story. Once everything had happened, and man had fallen, God immediately set in motion the steps needed to FIX the situation. He promised right there at the scene of the whole incident that he would sent his own Son through the woman to redeem mankind.
At that point, the issues changes. There is a fix for the problem being held out to Adam, Eve, and the rest of the human race. If they "die" from sin, it is only because they refuse to take the cure.

We do this all the time with our children. How often do toddlers burn themselves by touching hot things even after they've been repeatedly warned not to by the parents? If one thought about for a minute one could come up with hundreds of similar cases. The fact is that the danger NEEDS to be there because it's necessary for the proper functioning of the system. What do you think all those "Authorized Personnel Only" signs mean?
These rules are meant to protect us. In most cases the consequences are minor. However, in a few cases, the consequences can be deadly. Even with all reasonable precaution, occasionally someone who doesn't know any better, but knows the rules, gets in an done themselves harm. This is called life.
Without these challenges we might as well be amorphous blobs of slime clinging to a rock.

Mommy, mommy, why did you put those cookies in there?!
lol. I like your questions.
Ok, the cookies, I'm supposing, are (is) is the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
The 'sin' was not eating those cookies (fruit), it was DISOBEYING the mommy! (god..)
And in doing so, the children (Adam and Eve) got the cookies (knowledge of good and evil, or a conscience, choice between good and bad)
It's the children's fault-- but you forgot the part where the mommy told her kids, "Now susie and bobby, don't eat those cookies, those are for me!"
The original sin was disobedience against God, which is what esentially sin is. So, by disobeying, they opened a whole bunch of doors. Some are REALLY BAD.
That 'evil being' also disobeyed (and rebelled against) God. And he'll get his punishment.

Adam and Eve were created with free will. The only prohibition was not to eat of one tree which God had reserved for himself. There were countless other trees for them to eat from that were no doubt the exact same fruit. God had every right to test the loyalty and motivation of his creation.Satan placed in them the idea that God was withholding something good from them by the prohibition. The fruit itself didn't put them on the path to death, the fact of their disobedience did.Being perfect and able to choose, they were responsible for their own actions and the consequences. God is no more responsible for that than he is for disasters that are termed "acts of God". Adam and Eve paid the price for their folly. Unfortunately being their decendents, so do we because you cannot make something perfect from a cracked mold.

It would me mommy. However, we are talking of who a "human" court would blame. There is the separation of church and state, so a court cannot blame a "super natural being" so-to-speak. In the courts eyes, there is no God. Secondly, if a mom went into court for her defense and said that the most evil being ever tempted her children into eating poisend cookies, they would find the mother insane probably.

Any good mother would have kept the cookies out of the kitchen, thus ensuring that her children never touch them in the first place. I hold mommy accountable for this one.

You silly! Those cookies were for the stupid neighbor's dog, the one that barks all night when they aren't home. Mom had a reason for those cookies, and those children should have listened to her.
And the MEBE was really a sock-puppet, one that mysteriously grew at the end of little Sally's arm. And they didn't die. They just went to a hospital, far away, and never came back! Nya-ha-ha! No more cookies for ANYBODY! All for me now!
Excuse me, what were we talking about?

there is not any such factor as entire depravity. That replaced into invented by using John Calvin. regardless of unique sin, there is adequate grace left interior the soul of people to decide for to do stable, and opt to have faith in God. If we are completely wicked, we could no longer do this. Matrimony replaced into instituted in the previous the fall, and it has consistently been holy, and did no longer go through the implications of the fall, making it a special sacrament, and disproving Calvins invention. there is likewise the organic regulation it relatively is written on each and every persons coronary heart. people instinctivly understand that particular issues are incorrect and particular issues are stable. Killing is incorrect no remember what faith (or no faith) you carry on with. human beings decide for to harden their experience of right and incorrect to commit evil acts. using fact evil exists does no longer recommend that God willed it.
