I've met a few people in person that I've met in chat rooms. But I have to be honest, I was disappointed many a times!

They're such different people in person. It's easy to fake a personality in a chat room. And I think that that's what most guys do!

If you do decide to meet him, please be careful as there are alot of sickos out there! For all you know he could even be a pedophile. Take a friend with you and meet in a public place. Whatever you do, don't go alone!!!! Oh, and don't get your hopes up to high.

Sure, its been 7 months. I met a "chap" (tee hee, I like that word!) in NY and we certainly had alot in common, so much so that we talk every day and I can't imagine what I was doing without him before.

You should at least speak with him before meeting him. At least consider meeting him (if you feel comfortable doing that) after you've spoken.

Good Luck...and yes...there is nothing wrong with being a bit weary about it.

I'm not sure if you should report him or not. That usually just gets a person kicked out of a chat group or something. In which case they can always make a new screen name and come back. I'd just block him and not talk to him. Don't give him any personal information, even your name.

i talked to a girl 16.5 then she wanted me to meet her to see if i was the one for her.I told her i would meet her on the steps of the local police dept.if i had to, she opted though to walk with me round a 4 block area 3 times, and we hung out for 2.5 weeks. She was the one,but mom felt diferently.I was 45. But i have no ulterior motives, and will meet a potential girl under any circumstances,to allow HER to feel safe and comfortable, you should do the same.

Talk with him on the phone get to know him. Take someone with you if you're going to meet and make sure it's a public place just in case he tries anything. But if you're having doubts about meeting someone, you don't trust him. If you don't trust him don't do it. It;s safer. Good luck babe!

There is no way I'd actually meet up with someone I talked to on the Internet! Do you watch the news? do you know how many girls think they are going to meet some harmless guy and they get raped or murdered? don't be stupid.
