My dog is 11 months old and I got him neutered when he was six months old. I was under the impression that once he was neutered he wouldn't hump, but he is! It's a constant thing with him! What's even weirder is that he only tries to hump me, even though there are other family members in the house and another dog that is female. Should I be concerned? Does this mean that the vet didn't do the procedure right and that I should contact him? The behavior only started a month ago and I didn't think anything of it, i figured it would just go away, but it's getting more and more frequent. Please shed some light on the situation, thanks!

Humping is often a show of dominance in dogs. He is not doing anything overtly sexual by humping you. If he has been neutered, then his testicles have been removed and he should have no more sexual urges. The fact that this is just showing at this age in your dog makes it clear that he is trying to show his dominance over you.
You need to show your dog that you are his superior. The easiest way to do that is by making sure that you eat before he does and that you go through doorways(whether leaving or going in) before he does.

Nope, that's a common misconception that cutting off the "boys" will automatically cure a dog from humping.
Humping is a sign of a dog showing dominance or being overly excited. If the dog is only humping you, it means it thinks that it is dominant over you.
Training should solve that problem.

This is perfectly natural and most male dogs will show this behavior. The first thing is not too be to upset about it, but be consist with your approach to it.
It is a dominancy issue. He's telling you he's the boss...so you need to remind him that he's not.
When he begins this activity, remove your leg from his reach and tell him no in a stern voice.
The testosterone will continue to decrease over the next few months and with consistent training, the behavior will stop. It's embarrassing, but it's not the end of the world.

Humping is a dominance issue, not a sexual issue. Unless you want your dog to dominate you, don't ever allow him to hump on you.
Your vet did not do anything wrong. All dogs will do this, even females. they are just showing their dominance.

The dog is trying to establish dominance over you. For whatever reason he thinks he needs to be the boss of you. But you have to correct him each time he does this. Push him off and tell him no is stern voice. When he stops, praise him. Positive reenforcement is always the key to success.

dont worry about it. The cause of horniness is in the brain not the testicals. Your dog will continue to hump what ever he feels like but will be unable to produce. And as far as him humping only you its probally because he has more affection for you rather than anyone or anything else.

Dogs have a strong sense of smell. When it's that time of the month, they can't help but hump.

I truly believe that some dogs (especially small ones) never quit. Good luck! A firm NO! may help understand that it something not acceptable to you.

think of it this way...if someone disabled you from having sex by removing your private parts...then you would still have the instinct to have sex...but you couldn't...right? so your dog still has that urge, so he will still hump you.
