Ephesians 1:13-14:
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having beleived, you were maked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of His glory.
We are sealed. Just like the Noah and his family were in the ark. Just like the contents were in the ark of the covenant.

Want to respond to the person below be to clairfy the verse in James they mentioned. That verse is not talking about someone's soul. It is talking about a believer that has wandered away. If he is brought back, he is turned from the error of his way and it saves him from death and covers a multitude of sins.
God can take a believer out of this world when they go being an awful witness for Him. The verse doesn't mention anything about his soul, and it is covering a multitude of sins if they bring him back because it is saying it is the prevention of the multitude of sins, he would have committed had he still been wandering.

I call the Trinity the "Twinity". Notice that the Bible never names the holy spirit. That's because it is God's inactive force, like electricity, that he uses to accomplish tasks. Two Gospels record a parallel account of Jesus expelling demons, and in one holy spirit is described as "God's finger". (Matthew 12:28 and Luke 11:20). God has a name- Jehovah. The Son has a name- Jesus. If they were equal, why did Jesus not describe his relationship to God as being a Twin, or like being a triplet if the holy spirit were a person?
I'm not sure what you mean about eternal security, but to me the words invoke an image of everlasting life on earth when all the miracles that Jesus performed- raising the dead, curing the sick, controling the elements- will be performed with permanent blessings for manking. Remember how Jesus said that the meek would inherit the earth? This is my hope for a secure futrue. The bible teaches the truth about God and his purposes, and Jehovah's Witnesses in your area would gladly study the bible with you. I am not sure what you mean by eternal security. I believe the trinity concept was developed many years after Christ came by a bunch of men meeting together and trying to decide on the nature of God. This was by no means a unanimous decision or without many dissenting opininos. I think God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Ghost are 3 separate persons and can no more occupy the same space or body then you or I can. They are each a God, and part of the Godhead, but we worship the Father. They are one in purpose and will, not body, or essence. It is the only logical way to understand it.

There is no such thing as eternal security. James 5:19-20 states "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins."
In this its states that some wanders from the truth...meaning they knew the truth and walked away from it....which means someone can backslide....then it states that if someone "turns him back" he will "save a soul from death" meaning that someone can be a believer and walk away from God and if they don't turn back to God they will not have everlasting life.
on the trinity: God, Jesus, and the Holy spirit are 3 in one...just like an egg has a yoke, the white and shell...yet they are 1
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one

Hi
Ok I'm still learning about this - I'm doing a post grad in theology at Oxford Uni in the UK but if you're ok with that I'll tell you my take so far.
The trinity is the three persons of the one God (a bit like a three note chord played on a piano - if you listen carefully you can hear 3 notes but they form one sound). They are all are equally Divine and not created (so the Father didn't create the Son and the Holy Spirit - all three have existed forever... as you would expect with them being God - nothing is before them nothing is above them) but they are fundimentally bound by love.
This unity is voluntary but will never break... so the Father will always be bound to the Son through love etc and a fundimental part of their identity is that they are relational... an other fundimental part of God's identity is that he is life (litterally he defines it - God=life)
So God is at core an eternal relationship of love and life and out of this relationship God created humanity (a bit like parents having children not because they need them to fulfill a need in their lives but as an expression of their love)
I'm not sure how much of the Christian message you're familiar with so please excuse me if I go over old ground ...
God respects humanity enough to give us what we choose and humanity chooses not to be with God (ie the source of life, love, kindness etc) so we get death.
Jesus swapped that death for his identity as The Life so independant of how good we are we can be in Christ who is in God.
Once you've truely made that decision to be in Christ and have God's spirit in you, you have cashed the cheque. Eternal Life starts now... and it's not dependant on what we do so even if we mess up we still have the Holy Spirit in us and we are still in God. There are another group of people who go through the motions of living like a christian but have never really given their lives over to Jesus - but only God and they can know where they are.
So yes - I believe in eternal seccurity.
Hope that helps!
Good luck with finding your answers - they're important questions!

Sorry i'm don't have time for a big answer so i'll keep it simple.... i believe that if you ask Jesus to be Lord of your life and repent of your sins and you live for him, that you will live eternally with HIm in heaven, if you are asking if i believe in "once saved always saved" then, well, i'm kinda stuck on that but i think you can loose your salvation from turning your back on God. When it comes to the trinity....oh my gosh i've heard debates go for hrs on it, i'm still confused. hope God shows you clearly for yourself:)
