a couple of weeks ago I asked a question about my kitten sometimes sleeping in the litter box. Well, she hasnt done that anymore but today she started playing in there. The box is clean... we change the litter and wipe it clean every sunday or monday. This is really annoying me and im being disgusted by it. I feel like shes dirty now and dont want her going all over the furniture and my kids room after being in there for 10 -20mins or so. What can I do??

1. she has alot of toys and is played with alot. she loves her toys. She even plays with my kids toys.
2. I do maintain the litter box daily. I scoop the poop out everynight. and was told by many the litter itself can be changed once a week.

sometimes kittens will play in the box, what you could do is distract her from this behavior by getting her intrested in another toy when you notice her in there. She will eventually grow out of this behvior.

Try buying your kitten some good toys, because she is probably just 'bored' and 'playing with sand' is something 'kids' like to do, with the only 'sand' being in her litter box. SHE IS NOT 'DIRTY' for playing in the box ... but why do you say it's CLEAN if you only 'change the litter' and 'wipe it clean' one day a week. It should be 'policed daily' and the litter should be changed AT LEAST twice a week. YOU are the 'dirty one' ... so toss the kitten a catnip mouse and then go 'police' that litter box ...

Why don't you make her a box and put some shredded paper in it she just might like the feeling the box gives her, throw in some toys and see if that will help. When she goes to the litter box gently take her out and say no and put her in the toy box. It might take her some getting use to but it's worth a try, some cats are diggers and yours might be if she doesn't like the paper try sand so she knows the difference. I'd try paper though so she really feels the difference and make sure it's fairly deep so she can hide in it and hide and seek her toys. Good luck it will work with patience and time.

There's not much you can do! I work as a rescue volunteer with a local agency in Toledo called Planned Pethood and as part of the work for them I clean out the cages at a local PetSmart every Monday evening after work. You can't begin to know how many cats I see that come into there and actually SLEEP on their litter even AFTER they've gone to the bathroom in it!
It's not just a kitten thing - sometimes it is an adult cat thing too! And you can't discipline her for going into the litterbox or you create an even bigger mess - she won't use it!
This is something she'll just have to outgrow as there is no really easy solution. You've done everything you can short of discipline (spray bottles, water guns, saying "no", etc.). Patience is the only thing you have left.
Good luck!!

Unfortunately thats just a kitten thing. Your cat hasnt quite figured out that his bathroom is not a playroom. Toys and other activities will help but your cat will eventually stop on its own. Another idea is to move the box to a location that is more isolated and quite so the cat will want to leave the box to be with you in another room.

When she goes to the toilet in the box she still gets litter and pee and poo on her paws. There isn't a world of difference between that and her getting stuff on herself from playing in it, so don't worry too much about that as long as you keep it clean.
Try playing with her a lot outside the litter box. She might decide that's more fun and stop playing in it.

it truly is the way you muddle practice your cat. A cat gained't bypass to the lavatory the position it sleeps. save the cat in a small room or larger dogs crate for some days. The cat will bypass in the muddle field because it doesn't opt for to ought to face in it truly is own feces/urine. you should slowly advance the cat's "homestead" section. After some days, bypass the cat right into a larger room, yet save the door close. If sturdy habit keeps, then you definitely nonetheless advance the section to be the entire homestead. The cat see's this as a way of you telling it that the entire homestead is likewise their homestead, they can sleep everywhere, yet they ought to in reality bypass to the lavatory in a unmarried position- the muddle field. If it kind of feels to take a lengthy time period, you would possibly want to favor to change to a distinct muddle. each so often an fantastically low priced muddle will smell or experience strange and the cat only gained't like it.
