Cure for cancer.
but if the billion pounds are coming from donors there's nothing much we can say. All those billionaires who use their money to buy yachts and planes, the money they spent might have done better for research such as cancer but who are we to say they're improperly using their money.

There will be 1,444,920 new cases of cancer this year, in 2007. 559,650 people will die from cancer this year. This includes all forms of cancer such as brain/nervous system, breast, colon and rectum, lukemia, liver, lung and bronchitis, non hodgekin lymphoma, ovary, pancreas, and prostate cancer.
I would rather save 1.4 million lives than putting someone on the moon again. Let another country take credit for the moon walk. I think coming up with a cure for cancer is much more important because you aren't just saving the people who have cancer now but you are also saving the people that will have cancer in the future.
Site for statistics is below.

The cure for cancer is an elusive dream. There are ways to treat some cancers and even "cure" some of them. But cancer as a whole will not be completely cured any time soon. Having all that money spent on cancer research will only benefit those with cancer and those who may get it some day. Space exploration can and will benefit all of humanity. Why not spend the money to benefit all instead of a certain segmnent of society?

I would rather find a cure for cancer. It's the right (moral?) choice. We could re-visit the moon later!

You're not serious? A cure for cancer, though I believe in space exploration we should do a lot of things with the money that they spend on this endeavor. Like pay off our debt just to name 1 and when we have extra money then yea play around in space.

This is a no brainer. Both countries should put out the money for curing cancer. One billion pounds to find the cure, and one billion as reward for the person who did it. That's what I call incentive!

I would rather for the money too go toward a cure for all disease not just cancer , but that's politics for you. I don't care what anyone says you keep living and keep yourself on top of political affairs , it all about the have, and haves not just keep voting than you can complain at least that makes me feel somewhat good. peace out.
