Greetings !
I don't know if you have seen some of those "fantastic or fantasy worlds"... but the point is that I want to do one of these paintings. The problem is that I don't know how to draw a galaxy. I mean; I have seen that some artists do it with the computer or other kind of techinques. I'd like to know a simple one, maybe with acrilic or oil. Can somebody help me with this issue ? Could you give me a Tip or "instructions" so my painting looks real ?
Thanks and Good Luck !

i would use oil. to me it has more depth in using this type of paint. and it could give you very nice textures. How to draw a galaxy? well we all have our imaginations. Something, however, that always helps me is to go on google.com, images, and type in galaxy. See what you get. This always gives me ideas when im stuck on some art thing i have. Just remember to paint/draw back to front and light to dark, reserve your whites...

You can "dot" the stars with bright white or blue..usually in a cloud like formation - paint a light mist over the stars until you can see the stars but not overly distinctly - both mist and stars become lighter and for separate towards the edges...this is when you are looking at a galaxy in a sky and at a distance. If you want to make all the galaxy visible - it depends on the type - spiral, spiral arm, or elliptical...but similar methods are used

Try using the paint on a natural sea sponge. Lighty where you want the stars to look further apart. Harder where you want stars to appear closer or clumped together. Then go back with a fine brush and add pin pricks of paint to show individual stars.

Create a spiral pattern like this.
