I live with my boyfriend and I am very happy being there. I go visit my family on the holidays and on their birthdays, but I can't stand my parents. Every time I visit, I get into an argument or a fight with them. It makes me not even want to go to their house anymore. Their are only three people at my parents house that I like to visit. They are my sister, my nephew, and my brother. My sister should be getting her own house soon, so I will be able to visit her and my nephew without having to go to my parents house. That is great, but what about my brother. He will still live with my parents. The only way I will be able to see him is if I go to my parents house. I can't just not visit him. He is the most important person in the world to me. He is only 7 years old. I am the only one that took care of him from the day he was born until he was 6 and1/2. He is like my son to me. I love him a lot. My parents won't let him come to my house. The only way to see him is to visit my parents.

Sounds like you will just have to suffer through visiting your parents if you want to continue to see your brother.

You'll have to weigh your love for your brother against your dislike for your parents. If your love for your brother outweighs your dislike for your parents, then just resolve to visit him at your parents' house and simply avoid getting into an argument with your parents.

If you are able to lessen the arguments with your parents, perhaps they will see how mature you have become. If they continue to pick a fight with you, then they're the petty ones. There's no way to change other people. You can only change yourself!

Good luck!!!

Sound like you will have to put up with your parents if you want to see your brother. Can you try and talk with your parents about your problems. Do it for the sake of your brother. Hope that you can work this out with your family.

It takes two people to argue. When you are at your parents house remember it is their house and do as they ask. If they start on something personal to you . Just tell them you don't want to discuss it as you have a differnt opinion then they do .And even if they push for information or what ever it is , just say I told you I don't want to talk about it. After theat no matter what they say keep your mouth shut and pretend you did not hear it at all.

Don't bring up anything that would start a fight. Go over there and tell him to come outside with you and you can play ball or something. Try to stay away from them. If he is allowed to go to your other sisters house, go visit him over there.

Regardless of how you feel about your parents, they are still your parents. What do you fight about when you visit? You need to figure that out first. Let them know that you're tired of fighting and are there to visit them and your brother.

There is not alot you can do...just be strong for your brother, if that is the only way you can see him, then you'll just have to do it.
