Firstly I would get a new GP. Secendly I would see a psychologist (NOT a psychiatrist) about these mod problems. You may have a kind of bipolar disorder and this should be looked into.
I don't think medication is the answer for you in the long term but it seems some different pills may help ypu at the moment. I hope that you get a bitter better soon.

I'm sorry you feel like this. I would change GP's first off. You're in a bad enough state without the c"£p from your gp. I see a gp who is really good with me, I get my pills one week at a time so I don't have too many in the house at once (in case I O/D on them). Maybe you could do this! But I would definitely change to a more sympathetic gp.

I cannot understand why you have not been referred to a clinical psychologist. I know there is a long waiting list but I really feel that a good cognitive-behavioural therapist woul;d be able to help. go back to your GP and ask for a referal..In the meantime take up jogging or going to the gym.. exercise is one of the best things for you if you are depressed and can give you a lift that lasts a couple of days.

You have to take the pills long term for them to be effective. You probably wouldn't gain any benefit from them if you only took them for a few weeks. They can make you feel much worse if you take them and then suddenly stop, you have to come off them gradually. Try to stick with it, you won't get immediate results but they should help over a longer period of time. Good luck.

Perhaps you should go to a different doctor and ask for a second opinion, it doesn't sound like you got the oucome you wanted.
Did you tell her that the tablets didn't work for you the last time? Because it sounds like maybe she didn't understand what you wanted. Have another go, or get a second opinion. Don't worry, it will work out fine in the end...

Sounds as if there is the possibility of you being "bi-polar"
unfortunately there is no compound cure for this condition. Symptoms can be alleviated by medication, but it`s a case of trial and error until one which is found suitable.
I would however make the suggestion that you try to obtain a referral to a good psychotherapist, rather than psychologist, or indeed psychiatrist.
And maybe work with them in order to view your difficulties from a different perspective.

Stop taking the drugs and get your hormones balanced. If you have mood swings, you have a hormonal imbalance.
Anxiety, depression, mood swings, irritable/angry, tearful, crying, racing pulse, weak knees or dizziness, developing phobias, etc. are caused by hormones. You can be totally normal within a month if you get the proper hormones. Drugs are messing with your brain-- your problem isn't your brain, it's your endocrine system.

I agree doctors are not of much help, I don't understand when someone here writesd a question about help, everyone says go to ur GP!! as if they're God. I too got no help from them & find them very useless..(there are some good ones out there but how dou find them?)
I can only suggest to try healing, it helped me alot & I'm sure it'll help you, you can go to NFSH national federation of healers) if u go regurarly you'll start to notice a difference; please go to this ite 2 find ur nearest centre: (PS they work on donations only, most people give £1-5)
Hope this is of some help, please ask God for help, He won't let u down...
with luv
