Be upfront with her and tell her you are interested in her, and would like to take her out. See how she reacts. She might go for it, plus, it would totally skip over any awkwardness and her wondering "does he like me? how should I act toward him?"
Girls really like honesty. No notes, just ask her next time you see her.

Umm don't write her anything. Talk to her and tell her how you feel. If she rejects you then you know she's not the one. If you really like her don't let her get away!
