Yes it does. I really hate winter.

You should look in to Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, also known as winter depression. Wikipedia has an excellent article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_affective_disorder.

There have been studies done that suggest that sunshine can help release the chemicals that help create good moods, and there are even therapies that deal with artificial sunlight as a means of helping cure depression. So there is some legitimacy to your complaint!

That said, weather is not the only factor in causing depression, mood swings, and suicidal thoughts. Get some exercise, go have some fun, hang out with your friends, and if that doesn't make you feel better; go talk to your doctor about it. You might have a medical condition that is causing you to feel this way.

Yeah, almost everyone! Take a trip to the tropics! If you have to stay around, then crank up the lights in your environment. You are not getting enough sunshine, and your melatonin levels are all screwed up. Some people are more sensitive than others. They have a label for it, it's called SAD, or Seasonal Affective Disorder, but it just means you get sad in the winter. Do something about it.

I iwouldn't get that drastic (at least not a gun maybe something else, BUT I hate pain). I can't stand the cold. I have seasonal affective disorder and I freeze too. In the 70's everybody told me it was all in my head. Then they came out with 'seasonal affective disorder' and I could tell everybody told you so!

Nope, not me. I actually get in a better mood when its cold and gray out. But if it affects you that much them try light therapy or even just going to a tanning salon. My brother uses light therapy and his depression has greatly improved.

Well, it hasn't gone quite that far!!!! But, I find that sitting under a very bright light helps me shake that "I've fallen in a well and no one cares" feeling that does catch up with me almost every winter.
