Your graduation is a public event. If you want your dad there, you can tell him that you want him to show up. For your 'open house' if you are having one, as long as your grandma isn't hosting it, you should be able to invite him to that too.

Every tough call is also an opportunity. I know you're probably trying to keep your grandma happy too; so is there a way where you can let your dad attend the graduation, but get him seated at a place where he's not within sight of your grandma.
In addition, why don't you have lunch or dinner with your dad the day before or after graduation; that way, your graduation day celebrations will not be tense, trying to balance grandma's wishes as well. good luck.

How can your grandma stop your Dad from coming to your graduation? I would talk to the school principal and see if your grandma has a right to stop your dad from coming. Then just send your dad and invitation.
Why is your grandma so much against your dad? If he abused you then you should stay completely away from him and he should not come to the graduation. We only have a limited amount of knowledge here to give you any advice. see a councilor.

It's not up to your grandma, it's up to you and your dad. I don't see any way, that your grandma can stop your dad from coming to your graduation. Just talk to your dad, and tell him it would mean alot to you, for him to come. and enjoy your day with him.

higirl, don't let your grandma ruin one of the most important days of your life. If you want your father there, call him. Sometimes teenagers and young adults have to make decisions for themselves, and tell the adults to grow up. Good luck, and congratulations!

It's YOUR dad. Tell grandma how much it means to you. She needs to be an adult about it.

Confront your grandma about it. If she really wants you to be happy she'll let you see him this one time.

He's your father and has every right to be at your graduation. Your grandmother doesn't have to sit with him. And how is she going to stop him from coming? It's not fair to you. And I would tell her that.

That's your father and your graduation and your gram ma should respect that and mature herself for the one day. She doesn't have to see him, sit them apart, opposite ends of the school if you have to. Congrats on graduating!

She can't stop him from attending your graduation. He is grown. It his choice to go or not.
Maybe you should try to find out why you grandmother feels this way about him and take that into consideration though.
