Something about how if you're on the left side of jesus you go to hell...
And I think the Devil is supposedly left-handed.

I haven't given the Bible anything more than a cursory look-over...some superfundy friend was yelling about how I'll go to hell because I'm left-handed...guess he needs to brush up on his theology.

This comes from inferences made and not from an actual quote.. this is what happens when people twist words and meanings.
It starts with Psalm 118 vv15,16 "The right hand of the lord doeth valiantly, the right hand of the lord is exalted"
There are tons of passages about the right hand of the Lord.. so the assumption is made that the right hand is the good hand.
Then, we have the passage about the separation of the sheep and the goats .. the goats being the ones on the left hand of Jesus and they go to eternal torment.
The inference is then made that the Devil is left-handed, and that those who are left handed are of the devil.
I happen to now be ambidextrous because when I was a child, I was left-handed and the teachers forced me to learn to use my right hand instead because of this superstition.

I do not belive you will actually find one. You see, the idea of left handedness being evil comes from the verses which state that the right hand is the hand of blessing and the left hand the hand of cursing. Thus cursing being considered evil, left handedness was by extension considered evil. It is not true though, people have just misinterpreted the truth.
For the record, I am left handed despite many attempts by my teachers in primary and secondary school to change that.
But I am a born again son of God so God obviously has no problem with left handed people. Only man makes such judgemental and condemning assumptions.

You know, when I was a kid at school, there were still some of the teachers who tried to force us to write with our right hand. Luckily we got our dear parents to complain.
I don't know where, but if there ISN'T a passage to the effect, I swear I'm gonna go back to that primary school one day and thump all those (now old and toothless) teachers over the head with their own bibles. Can't wait for my next reunion...

i really never heard that before and i have read the bible since i was old enough to read there is a story in the bible where a whole army was left handed and won in a battle
