can a girl give a guy a promise ring?

I had a girl give me a pinkie ring once. Every girl I met asked me where I got it. When I said my girlfriend gave it to me they walked away dissapointed. Might as well have been a wedding band. It had the same effect.

You can give a man anything you want. There is nothing written that says the ring, promise, or engagement should be at the direction of a man.
If you feel for a guy in a certain way, GO FOR IT!

I would say that you can give a guy anything you want but a promise ring.. um, that depends on what you are promising to do.

absolutely, anything a guy can do, a girl can do better!!! lol!!!! I did give my bf a promise ring and I feel great when I see him wearing it, just be okay with it looking like a wedding band, cuz it does look like a wedding band
