Or do you see some one turn on their turn signal to change lanes and you speed up so that can't get in front of you by golly. Yesterday I tried to change lanes,my exit was about a mile and a half up and I wanted in the correct lane early enough. 33 cars went past before someone let me change lanes. Which way do you lean?

I do and sometimes it drives my husband nuts. I let anyone in who has their signal on, I mean what is the big deal, so they get there 1 second sooner than me. I also wave thanks to anyone who ledt's me in.

My grandfather and father have both driven trucks as a profession, and both spent a lot of time teaching me as I was learning how to drive. Both my father and my grandfather instilled in me that every good deed done on the road (allowing someone to merge, letting someone into the line in a busy parking lot as everyone is exiting a large event, etc.), will be repaid by another driver someday. And while it seems that fewer and fewer of these good deeds are repaid these days, I still have driving etiquette.

If I see someone waiting and they have their turn signal on I will let them in. If I see them being a jerk and cutting others off and not using their turn signal I will not let them in. Driving etiquette is a two way street.

I try to be courteous, Thats just how I was raised, and is the way I maintain myself. For instance, I will stop at the crosswalk, if someone is actualy using it to cross the road, instead of jaywalking. I just let all the me-firsters do their selfish thing, and keep myself away from them. Usualy. If someone is being a real jerk, though, I will mess back with them, just hoping I can get them to have a brain blow-out. (one less jerk)

I have good driving etiquette because I expect others to as well. This is perhaps how I have avoided any moving accidents in my entire driving history.
Karma works. :)
