Upon getting my Dec-Jan Visa Bill this month I noticed a few charges for items I did not charge. Two for 14.95 for Dream Smile, and two for 74.95, for a company called lean.rx.
Called Credit Card company and I have to wait for husband to get home from work late to nite to dispute charges, but they did suspend card. I am a little nervous as I wait. Any suggestions??

Hello, The same thing has happened to me. LeanRX.net has charged me WITHOUT Authorization.$74.95 on 1/01/07 and $69.95 on 1/16/07. I have shut down my credit card so they do not send me another charge. Now to answer your question. I went to the Better Business Bureau and found the company. Here are the details:

Name: Genixlabs
Phone: 1-877-277-9887
Address:
1246 Linden Avenue
Glendale, CA 91201

Tomorrow I am disputing this with the credit card company and giving the information shown. I hope this helps.
Have a wonderful day, Darin

If your husband didn't make the charges, it sounds like online charges...that were made with your stolen credit card number. Dispute the charges in writing and make sure you save a copy of EVERY piece of correspondence, starting with your statement. Request that your account be closed and keep an eye on it. Working in the credit industry, I see people all the time who disputed charges, heard nothing or their disputes were denied, and the charges (including late fees and penalties) show up in collections. You could consult an attorney, but if your dispute is denied, pay the charges. I know it's not right to pay charges you did not incur, but it's a small price to pay for the hassle you will go through. Try to pinpoint where you used your card for holiday shopping; specifically web sites. Be careful with all future purchases. Good luck to you!

I just read something recently about those lean.rx guys, and how they continually kept charging some old retired guy for months and months.

Dispute the charges, change your credit card number, and be damn careful where it gets out to next time. I don't know how those charges got there in the first place, but best way to keep it from happening again is to lose that card and get another.

If Hubby ain't been using the card for those charges, would either of you happened to have clicked on a "phishing scam" email that looks like it's from the card company, and reading something along the lines of having to click a link to confirm your details due to some sort of server / security upgrade?
