God, according to the Bible anyways, is a being of light and love. But in Genesis, God is a group of people who are doing something that sounds suspiciously like genetic engineering.

well first of all you ask two questions. I don't think you can say God is either a plant or a single celled organism. If God were a plant there would be a physical item that would need food, water and soil. Also God is far more complicated than a single celled organism. So while I can't define God for you I think I would argue against each of what you offered. Now why we require a male and female to reproduce. God made us that way so that neither gender would control the other. God felt that Man needed a companion. that is why Woman was created.

First question - No!
Second question - I believe that God could have made us any way He chose and we could have been single-celled organisms, BUT, He decided to have a people, not organisms. He decided to make man and let that man have a woman so that they can copulate and reproduce NOT eliminating the process whereby man and woman derive physical pleasure therefrom.
God created sex, and He did command the man and woman to be "fruitful and multiply". In other words, have sex and produce children. He did two things - He gave them a way to enjoy each other and to reproduce children at the same time.
God knew exactly what He was doing and He had our pleasure in mind when He planned it all.

god is neither a single celled organism or a plant he is a higher being all together. He created us in his image, not exactly like him, he created adam, one man alone in the garden of eden until he requested(prayed) for something more so god used one of his ribs and created eve from him(adam [his rib]). we are all created in his image. I hate to sound like i am preaching but this is all in a very specific history book- The bible.

God is a Spirit and He is seeking those who worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
God created man and woman to have dominion of all creation. We can't fathom the Mystery of God because His ways are higher than our ways and His thought is higher than our thought.

It is really sad that I am unable to give you a thumbs down. Am I the only one that thinks there should be an IQ prerequisite for asking questions?

Its the other way around. Man made god in his image because they couldn't understand the world around them. Therefore, it must be some higher power doing it.
