I think maybe they come here because the topic is "Religion and spirituality", but maybe that's just my silly perception.

As for someone looking for answers here, no one should close their mind to any specific place that might provide them an answer.

Why do you think knowledge is a sin? If it was, why is it here for us to learn?
If knowledge is a sin, then why are you asking a question? Knowledge is wisdom. If its wrong to have wisdom, and knowledge.
Then how is it you know how to ask questions? And if it be a sin, then by asking" why do religious people come to this forum". then you yourself, become a sinner.
If its wrong to go to school to learn ,then teaching our children what is right or wrong. is a sin. then everything since time began is a sin. why would God let us learn from our mistakes, if its wrong to have knowledge of life, and the wisdom to learn?
Which would you rather be, one who knows nothing, or one who know how to feed themself?
Put it this way, if you had no knowledge, how would you learn to take care of yourself? Think about it. I must note, that you must not have to much knowledge because you misspelled the word beginning with the word begging. And what makes you so sure it was a snake? it dose not define the serpent as a snake. it simply say the serpent was the most subtil ,then any beast in the field.
And it wasn't till after both Adam & Eve took a bite of the fruit. that the serpent was made to crawl on its belly. Think about it. if it was already a snake, then why would it need to be cursed. the serpent could of been a superior being, that was transformed into a snake.
It was simply saying since the serpent has a sly and sneaky way of seeing from a sneaky point of view, it was made to crawl on its stomach to fit its ways. And you say knowledge is a sin!

Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child's balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying.
Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn
Suicide remarks are torn
From the fools gold mouthpiece
The hollow horn plays wasted words
Proves to warn
That he not busy being born
Is busy dying.
Temptation's page flies out the door
You follow, find yourself at war
Watch waterfalls of pity roar
You feel to moan but unlike before
You discover
That you'd just be
One more person crying.
As some warn victory, some downfall
Private reasons great or small
Can be seen in the eyes of those that call
To make all that should be killed to crawl
While others say don't hate nothing at all
Except hatred.
Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred.
While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its fates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have
To stand naked.
An' though the rules of the road have been lodged
It's only people's games that you got to dodge
And it's alright, Ma, I can make it.
Advertising signs that con you
Into thinking you're the one
That can do what's never been done
That can win what's never been won
Meantime life outside goes on
All around you.
You lose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling, distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks
They really found you.
A question in your nerves is lit
Yet you know there is no answer fit to satisfy
Insure you not to quit
To keep it in your mind and not fergit
That it is not he or she or them or it
That you belong to.
Although the masters make the rules
For the wise men and the fools
I got nothing, Ma, to live up to.
For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
Who despise their jobs, their destinies
Speak jealously of them that are free
Cultivate their flowers to be
Nothing more than something
They invest in.
While some on principles baptized
To strict party platform ties
Social clubs in drag disguise
Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
And then say God bless him.
While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he's in.
But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.
Old lady judges watch people in pairs
Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare
While money doesn't talk, it swears
Obscenity, who really cares
Propaganda, all is phony.
While them that defend what they cannot see
With a killer's pride, security
It blows the minds most bitterly
For them that think death's honesty
Won't fall upon them naturally
Life sometimes
Must get lonely.
My eyes collide head-on with stuffed graveyards
False gods, I scuff
At pettiness which plays so rough
Walk upside-down inside handcuffs
Kick my legs to crash it off
Say okay, I have had enough
What else can you show me?
And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They'd probably put my head in a guillotine
But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.

Boy are you mixed up. This is the religious section. This is where the RELIGIOUS people talk and ask questions. Knowlege isn't a sin. Wanting the knowledge of EVIL was the sin. There are never ending questions about God and our salvation. What's wrong with getting help from other people with our questions or helping others by answering them?

This is your comment, "don't you know knowledge is sin".
I'm sorry to tell you but it is not a sin. You may be referring to "Original Sin". Knowledge is what God wants us to seek in order to protect us from evil. Look it up. I don't come here for answers, I come here to help some that need help in understanding this Christian religion as best I can with what I know.
By the way, I won't convert anyone. Proselytize, imagine that. I will give honest answers to people that ask. What ever you believe, so be it.
Why do you come to Religion & Spirituality and ask a quetion like that...Is it just to provoke some kind of argument, ignorance is truel not bliss.
No offense to you intended.

Knowledge is power and no one in my bible does it say that it is a sin. The sin that you are talking about was a willful sin by Eve. I do follow God and on this site to help others know about him as well.

Faith is a living thing and since we are part of the world we never know when we can get a better understanding of our faith from other sources. Being too religious can turn us into fanatics, we need someone who may not be officially considered religious, but who has a good outlook on life. The disciples of Jesus wanted him to stop some people who were doing miracles in his name, because they weren't 'official', part of the original group., but Jesus said they wouldn't have the ability to do miracles if they didn't have the true faith and to leave them alone.

Why do you come here and start stuff like this. My God is the truth, and it appears that you are the one looking for answers at the moment

Yeah, its a complete mystery why religious people would come to the religious section. How very odd. Makes much more sense for atheists, people who believe they're soulless to be in the religious/spiritual section. Yeah, there goes the atheists very own, "atheists have higher IQ's" theory. What's the saying? Oh yeah, a brick or two short of a full load.

If knowledge is a sin, you are a perfect saint. I come here to spread the Good News of God's love to those in need. The Bible says only fools reject Wisdom. YBIC
