How many budgies would fit in this cage?

Question

I would like to know how many budgies would fit in my cage I have. The cage is:

Depth: 15 inches
Width: 34.5 inches
Length: 42 inchs. I currently have 3 budgies in it and they are absolutly fine. But I would like maybe one more. They get plenty of exercise outside the cage (about 4 hours a day)

That is quite an old photo of it. It now has much more toys and climbing equipment in it

One more would probably be okay. Remember though they need enough space in the cage so that they can get away from one another if two or more of them have a disagreement, otherwise you will have some injured unhappy birds. They have to reestablish their pecking order with each new addition to the community. Your best bet is to put the new bird in a separate small cage right next to the big cage (after the quarantine period)so they can all get to know each other without being able to hurt one another. This takes care of alot of the pecking order issues before hand. It's great that you give them flight time in the house it makes for much happier and healthier birds. Good luck!!!!!

You can put at least six Parakeets in there. Make sure they have enough perches. That cage can hold up to six. Four would be great. The more you have the more they fuss with each other. So four would be ideal. Make sure you have two females and two males, or else if you have three females and one male, they will fight. The female is the ornery one. They fight. But if you use two of each they will be happy. Or use three males and one female. The more females you have the more they fight.

Looks pretty big. I doubt one more will create any problems, but don't forget to quarantine.
